seen someone argue this...that Usyk looks flashy so people gave him credit but that Fury was doing damage he felt that Usyk won the rematch but that Fury should of got the nod in the first fight
No. I thought the second fight was arguably closer.. I haven't rewatched it, and people will no doubt correct me where I'm wrong, I think the first fight rests on whether you had Tyson winning early rounds. I didn't think so. I thought Fury was losing at the start. I thought he took over in the middle rounds, I think around the 5th to 7th looked like he was taking over, and then, in my (probably flawed memory) Usyk took over around the middle of the 8th or before, and battered him in the 9th, which would be a 10-8 round. If Usyk won 2 of the last 3 rounds, and 2 or 3 of the first 4, it's very clear. If not, it might be closer. I wasn't impressed by Fury in that fight except those middle rounds. I thought Usyk was winning from the beginning. The second fight was more even throughout. Some had it quite wide for Usyk on work-rate, some had it a lot closer because Fury did establish himself quite tightly and took centre of the ring more. Neither of them dominated much at any point really. I thought it was a close one but the official decision wasn't wrong.
You mean the 1st fight that should have been ruled a ko victory for Usyk in the 9th? That fight? Yeah, that dude needs to suck a chorizo and learn how to watch boxing.
The referee's call was correct but people like drama and create controversy. Fury was knocked down (the corner post broke his fall and kept him on his feet) so Usyk was halted and the referee counted.
Their is just no way that Fury won either fight. He had a lot of in the middle rounds of the first fight but with the kd and usyk winning like the last 4 to 5 rounds its legit mathematically impossible for fury to win
Nah if anything it was the other way round. Fury was trying to be flashy and showboat while Usyk was boxing his ears off.
By definition if the ropes (or posts) hold up a boxer that represents the fact that had they not been there the boxer would have fallen down. Hence, it was a knockdown (by your own observation) which the ref rightly called. I was at the first fight. I was close through the first 7 rounds then Usyk took over. He won both fights.
