IMO Don King Really Didn't Respect Or Like Boxers

I get that idea myself.

James Douglas's trainer got so angry at his open disrespect for Douglas in the run up to teh Holyfield fight, that he threatened that they woudl walk away.

 

King was pretty bad at times. But, Arum was just as big of a scumbag. At least King put on great full fight cards with competitive/significant undercards. Arum usually gave us a big main event with total garbage on the undercards.

 

I’m starting to think he’s a real jerk.

 

Was Don King involved in that fight?

That's the Tyson fight, not the Holyfield fight.

 

He wasn’t that embarrassed by it. He did a live spoken word show a few years back (but years after the Douglas fight) which featured a video of the long count with Tyson counting out the 13 seconds. He's still in denial himself over it.

 

This right here is the reason I like Rocky V. It presents a reality about the sport not everyone (at least casual fans) see.

 

Ive met all 3. In order of likeability, here it goes: 1. Arum, 2. De La Hoya but a far off 2 and in a very far 3rd, King.

 

the nile is huge as they say! I was in the nile for far too long about a situation in my teens (and no it was not SA or anything, something else) . It's a great place too when you simply cannot handle the truth.
