Do you believe Fury, deep down, genuinely thinks he won both the Usyk fights, as he keeps saying? Or is he simply saving face and \ or trying to gain a trilogy fight?
No he doesn't actually believe he won. When he was battered after the first fight, he said "i thought i won" in a very unconvincing manner as if he himself didn't believe it.
1st first - Immediate post fight in the ring plus factoring in concussion, yes he probably thought he won and you could make a case for him by 1 point if biased. 2nd fight - Immediate post fight in the ring maybe but after reviewing footage shouldn't I gave Fury more early rounds in the 2nd fight than I should have. I can see why in the ring he might have felt he won them when he didn't. These are two men who are very good at winning rounds, Usyk's gaydar for how well he is doing in rounds seems to be better than Fury's. Fury defintely must have thought he won rounds that he didn't in that 2nd bout.
Yes, he probably does. Does @shadow111 really believe the world is flat? Yes. People who have mental illnesses like bipolar disorder (Tyson Fury) and schizophrenia (Shadow) are known to have delusions.
I doubt Fury believes he won both fights but I think he believes he could have won both fights and that if they meet again, he can win. That's the elite fighter's mentality. They have unshakeable faith in themselves.
First fight was close and barring the knockdown he may well have taken it on points so you could see why he feels like he won a lot of the early rounds and did enough to claim victory but the second fight no, he doesn't think he won that .
I think he does. He won neither imo. But he made it close enough that if you we,re the one fighting and you we,re a bit delusional like most of them are...you,d probably believe you won too. I genuinely thought he done enough to win the second fight. But on second viewing its actually almost imposible to give him enough points to win the fight. The closest i could give him....giving him every close rounds was still 1 point up to usyk.
First fight? Probably as it was fairly close. Second? Nah. Don't think it matters either way, Turki will give him that rematch.
It's natural for a boxer to feel they won when it's a very competitive fight and it goes to the scorecards. Not because they are absolutely convinced in the calculation that they won the rounds but because they don't feel they were beat. Getting knocked out or shut out, you feel beat. But when the fight is competitive and close in most rounds, it's not really the same thing. So, yeah, he probably feels he won because he's seeing it from his blinkered perspective.
Fury was on ***** street in the 2nd fight and it was only because of the ref that he didn't get KO'd. I can't believe he's so deluded that he actually thinks he won that fight
It depends on his mood I reckon, he is literally bipolar and has had substance abuse issues as well. So one day he could be fully lucid and realise he lost and the next he could fully believe he won and was robbed. I can't believe people still take anything he says seriously, for every Fury quote there is probably an equal and opposite Fury quote.
I don't suspect there's any thinking involved. It's an emotional knee-jerk followed by a mild kind of PTSD type deal... He can't cope with the idea that he's not special, that he's not the best, that he won't be in GOAT conversations, etc - so his subconscious just doesn't let him process the fact that he lost, convincingly. The denial is a defence mechanism against his own weak mind.
He knows he lost, especially the second fight but he’s smart enough to realise that casuals will buy into his ‘robbed’ rhetoric and that there’s another $75m there if he can sell it to them. He knows he can’t win a third fight but he’ll grab the cash.
