Decent Contender? No. A boxer with very little experience, some of them, maybe. A guy off the street with no boxing experience, probably most of them.

Toney was your typical working class fighter - hard working, hard sparring often, fight very frequently, but he was a bit talentless - still full credit to him, he played his hand very well. But his lack of natural ability was on full display the moment he let his discipline slip a little - you just don't get outboxed by Peter twice.

Meanwhile, Claressa is the GWOAT, that takes something you can't teach. Her last fight was probably the greatest display of defensive prowess since FMJ. And look - i'm no size queen, but she's probably naturally bigger than Mayweather, and i just don't think Toney could cope with a larger fighter boasting that much skill.

Thinking about it - Daniels failed to land a punch on Shields for an entire round. The only other fighter in recent memory to achieve that was none other than RJJ. We all saw what Jones did to Toney. A bit of a stretch, but parallels kinda keep drawing themselves.

Claressa Shields would most likely beat every boxer from the 1980s and before

listen, no disrespect to them, but the sport has evolved, fighters today are much more conditioned despite huffing and puffing after 12 rounds of little action, but they're still better

they're also more experienced, they have longer training camps, and longer sparring matches, which of course contribute to ring skill and experience more than actual pro bouts.

they also eat protein bars, tell me, did Moore and Charles eat protein bars?? no they did not!! we're centuries past them nutrition wise, it is not even funny.

with the incredible ranges of skills and styles and deep talent pool today, such as circling the ring, jabbing and clinching your way to a decision, their archaic knowledge cannot compare, Claressa beats all of them, simply too modern

I know you're kidding. A good female boxer or Mixed Martial Artist could beat some random dude but that's it. I know it's a different sport but didn’t the 186th or so ranked male tennis player beat Serena Williams?
