What could the outcome have been? Tyson manages to stay in front on the cards and wins still? Tyson eventually stops Tillis late? Tyson tires, falls behind on the cards and loses a decision? Tillis moves in on a weary Tyson and stops him?
Scneario a: Tyson will continue to outpoint him. Scenario b: If Tillis gets cocky and opens up, he'll get brutally knocked out. I haven't seen the fight in a long time. But I think Tillis was only able to stay alive and have his moments because he stuck to his game plan and frustrated Tyson by tying him up etc.
Tillis won 4 of the last 5 rounds, but it was Tyson who won the 10th. Both men appeared a little tired. Hard to say really.
I remember Tyson saying that Tillis s body shots were hurting him like never before. Tillis was a tough guy, experienced. Going 15 with weaver proved he could last the course.
Tillis fought a very passive fight vs Weaver though he didn't even try and win that fight. As for the thread Tyson wins he had the winning mentality and reached the top unlike Tillis who after his first loss was happy being a gatekeeper for upcoming prospects.
The weaver fight was very disappointing. Think it was Dundee in his corner? Couldn't understand why he fought that way.
Yes, he said that he never felt a general pain as high as when he fought Tillis and Ribalta. However Tyson gained valuable experience with this fight and showed that just after when he fought 10 rounds against Green without tiring (and by working in the clinches).
