Let's put it this way, Kovalev would likely ice his Russian comrade Roy Jonesov.
Kovalev spoke about sparring Usyk and said he was huge and that Usyk went easy on him. In other words, he definitely didn't like his chances.
Usyk is a real cruiser not a pumped up MW or LHW.
Jones isn't beating any top real cruiser.
    What a delusional mong.
Usyk just beat AJ/Fury/Dubious twice each. These characters are massive. He almost KO'd all of them too.

Jones loves fighting with his hands down. You think that style is going hold up against Usyk?

The head can’t outrun the fist, especially against an elite fighter with great timing.

Not sure that references and videos of an old, washed up Jones getting KO 'd adds much to the discussion when we are specifically talking about a prime RJJ?
It seems to be a bit of an old Jones trope to glibly say 'Glass jawed Roy gets his chin shattered by (insert popular modern fighters name here)' when it's clear that a peak Jones and an older Jones are two very different beasts.
I am a big RJJ fan and I do think this would be an interesting fight. But peak Jones was really seen at MW \ SMW, so I'm not sure his skills would be enough to offset Usyks, as well as the size difference.
As an aside, I've never seen a fighter (who operated both peak and post peak) judged so strongly on his post-peak career (which lasted about 20 years, let's remember, with a fast and obvious degradation). It's a curious thing.

    Another enjoyable one! :D

I watched a little bit of roy’s fight against Ruiz in 2003… John really did rock him pretty good early in that fight! lol

Bit of a tangent, but I met Roy on Saturday and was absolutely stunned at how little he is.

He doesn't and didn't keep that speed at heavyweight, John Ruiz isn't hard to outpace

This is barely competitive imo and its no fault of Roys I just think hes very undersized and underchinned to take on Usyk.

guys. i knowwww we are absolutely in love with the king of boxing being this goofy, lovable but honest and genuine king of the mountain....but come on man. lets not make it seem that prime Roy wasnt unreal. im not saying he would win. but he was an unatural talent. and to just fly him off as a deluded old man is silly. guy beat 5 hall of famers.

could usyk make 185 in 2004? see what would happen there.

Roy came to Sydney so arrogant thinking that Danny was another Glenn Kelly. The cope afterwards was hilarious with Roy trying to claim that Green used illegal hand wraps

This isn't peak Roy though. Jones was damn near unbeatable at his peak. He made James Toney look average.

I am not saying he beats Usyk. He probably isn't big enough but let's not act that from the early 90's until 2003, he was about the most unbeatable fighter we have seen in any weight class. Even Usyk at his peak never looked that spectacularly unbeatable.

HAHA 'ol Roided Roy is delusional and has been knocked out too many times.

Usyk is just too damn good for any version of Roided Roy.

Jones takes yet another embarrassing KO loss.

Why would Usyk drain himself to go to 185!? Why not roy just meet him at cruiser (When Usyk was prime) and just bulk up like he did for Ruiz? Lol That’s far from some UNFAIR size advantage.

2017-18 Cruiser weight Usyk eventually hurts jones middle rounds and finishes him.
