I think this a manageable matchup for Canelo stylewise. It would be an absolute war.

    Who wins?

Think about how Canelo normally looks in round 9 against opponents then imagine Canelo in round 12 or hell round 14 vs. Hagler

Hagler would beat Canelo up very badly.

Canelo is so much bigger than Hagler in the ring and Hagler would have all sorts of issues with his counter-punching.

I think over a 15 rounder Hagler wins a close decision with his feet, cardio and jab but he takes some serious damage, more than Canelo does here. I may favour Canelo in a 12 rounder.

Interesting fight actually. Today’s version of Canelo probably loses by UD. But the juiced up PRIME version of Canelo that Triple G got robbed against probably beats Hagler by a hard fought close decision. Canelo’s counter punching and speed would give Marvin fits

Canelo doesn't have the stamina to keep up with Hagler. That's why Canelo is so economical with his punches. Hagler will push CA from the jump. If CA doesn't put some serious damage or stop Hagler by the halfway point, Hagler has his way with him until the brutal stoppage or total ass whoopin until the 12th.

GGG threw 879 punches at Canelo in the rematch while coming on strong at the end and Canelo handled it just fine, no MW is KO'ing that guy. Hagler's aggression was taken away by an old Duran's counters in the early rounds and he had to settle for jabbing and boxing at range for the rest of the match, he's not gonna be able to break Canelo with his pressure, Canelo's counters are too sharp and hard for that.

Canelo on points. If Floyd was almost screwed over, poor Marvelous would have no shot.

Strange match up for me as Hagler has a chin and an engine for the ages.

He outworks Canelo and isn’t getting laid out.

Hagler by decision, judges will determine how close but in the eyes of the masses it is a pretty comfortable UD

Hagler whoops him. Canelo "Smoke and Mirrors" Alvarez can't hang with a true blood and guts great like Hagler.

You say because Duran was able to do something against Hagler, Canelo can? LOL. Yeah, because Duran and Canelo are on the same level. Duran one of the greatest boxers period. Canelo isn't even the greatest from the state he comes from, let alone his country. Boy O boy!

Canelo has twice the heart Hagler ever had.
Canelo is very much up there as far as counter-punching goes, except unlike Duran he is even bigger than Hagler.

Canelo has twice the heart? Fighting no hopers for the last 6 years, not fighting Benavidez. Showing one of the most blatant ducks not only in his era but arguably in the history of the sport? Oh, what else, something about a bull or cow named clenbutorol. Anyway, what ever that bovine's name was, it wasn't a good or brave look for Canelo.

Canelo went through and gained titles in 4 different weight classes. He took on GGG. He had a whole championship reign at 168 lbs while being visibly undersized and then moved up AGAIN and took his shot at Bivol. Hagler never left middleweight. His best opponents were an ancient lightweight, a light-middleweight who was never good at 160 lbs and a retired, injured welterweight Leonard who beat him. Hagler can't lace Canelo's shoes when it comes to a resume discussion.

I'm not a fan of Canelo but he would be tough enough to last the distance.

    Hagler wide UD.

Nobody CA beat at 168 is even close to Hearns, Duran, or Leonard. Hearns and Duran moved up and got belts after Hagler beat them. Not completely washed up like you're trying to say. All that Canelo smoke and mirrors and The Marvelous one still whoops him. Oh wait, I forgot the Yeldrim fight! You are right, Canelo is the best. LOL
