Fury struggled with USS. He had to maul the hell out him. I don't think it was the size though. It was the skill of both Usyk and Cunningham.

Meanwhile Vitali lost to Chris Byrd and remind me how did he handle Chisora? Not amazingly maybe can argue aging at that point.

Both are nightmares for midgets. Vitali didn't clinch as much as his stiff chinny brother though which I respect more to be honest and didn't master pushing over midgets like Wlad.

Anyone on a given night can perform,Fury basically had no corner for the Cunningham fight. Came out sloppy and dropped early then ditched any boxing gameplan IF he even had one and went to ground and pound town and made Cunningham who was a tough customer quit on attrition and exhaustion in a great fun fight that anyone can enjoy on rewatch.

I voted Fury. His movement and ability to work behind his jab, making it very difficult for some smaller guys to get close, then he was able to tie guys up and lean on them if and when they got inside on him.

Fury, Vitali looked very lumbering when his opponents were slick and moved well, Fury could at least catch someone in a clinch and maul them up close.

I completely read this as Wlad, and voted for him with his jab and grab style.

But I'd have to pick Fury over Vitali.

Vitali was a lot tougher than Fury and harder to hurt.

I feel guys like Frazier and Mike Tyson would have a tough time against Vitali but demolish Fury's body.

Yeah Fury is better. Vitali was difficult for the small fighters obviously, just too big and mobile and skilled enough.
But Fury is faster and can actually deal with the speed.

Even the cunningham fight showed that. Fury was doing well in the exchanges with a pretty quick cruiser-ish fighter. He went into maul mode because he couldn't dominate boxing purely but it didn't mean he wasn't having success. The KD was just Fury being dumb and taunting etc.
It's actually true what Fury used to say, that Vitali fought like a robot compared to him.

A good common opponent to compare is Kevin. Vitali was really marked up after that fight, Kevin really landed a lot of jabs. Fury fought Kevin after that but before Kevin was a journeyman and put on a boxing clinic. The pre-fight talking was hilarious too, back when Fury was funny.

I always thought it would have been hilarious to see the once mooted Tyson Fury Tony Bellew fight. Fury would've beaten the absolute crap out of him.

Chris Byrd says: "I took a fight on 10 days notice, not even seeing Vitali fight, came to his backyard, made him miss, countered him, made him punch the air, made him injure his shoulder and made him quit."

Here, that's a whole story. Vitali wanted no parts of Byrd after that.

Guys Vitali was up on the cards before he pulled out against Byrd, Ol’ Chris performed well but don’t blow it out of proportion.
