The problem with that thinking is Tim has fought the best in his division. He beat Harrison and Mendoza and then continued to challenge himself. Hes fought Fundora and Murta and yes he lost, but he could just as easily be unbeaten claiming to be the best had he not fought them. He could be just fighting former welter and light welter title holder so he could pretend he has a nack for knocking out champions. Their net worth wont be too dissimilar, but Zoo has challenged himself at the top level. People generally did believe Wahid was an elite boxer who was cherry picking, but now he doesnt even have that prestige any more.
He did not lose either however much you spin. We refer to Uncle Al Asa mark of respect because he is an esteemed older gentleman. Civility is something lacking today in younger generations.
If the knee that Tank took was counted correctly as a KD he loses the fight. Roach should have been given the nod.
Tank is elite as is Roach whereas Tszyu is most definitely not. It’s your type of thinking that makes many think Floyd was cherry picking when in truth he faced a murderers list of opponents.
Agreed. The least charitable interpretation of Floyd's career Vs the most charitable interpretation of Tanks are still levels apart. Floyd fought loads of top guys, even if he did let some get old first. Tank claimed to be massive but ducked guys who were decent, but not dangerous. He also could easily have had losses to B grade fighters and often played rehydration games with opponents that no elite fighter could possibly need to. Floyd found ways to exaggerate his greatness, but was unquestionably "up there", somewhere... Tank on the other hand claimed to be great, whilst running as far and fast as possible from opportunities to prove it. Shouldn't be in the same sentence.
Floyd didn't always take the right fight at the right time, but he did fight the best in the world multiple times. Hernandez, Corralled, Castillo, Baldomir, Hoya, Hatton, Mosley, Cotto, Canelo, Pacquiao. Yes the timing wasnt always right but when he fought those people you cannot deny they were the best in the world at the time of the fight. Wahid has never once done that. His resume isnt event worth analysing potential asterisks.
I personally thought Tank beat Roach on points narrowly. If you insist on calling him by his Islamic name then say it correctly as in Abdul Wahid means Servant of the Almighty One.
As predicted just seen another post of yours saying Floyd did not always fight opponents at the right forgetting some these guys like Shane Moseley were ducking Floyd at the time many of you thought was the right time. Canelo with 40 professional fights at 23 years old, a 8 years a pro and unified world champion many say was too green yet 36 old Floyd was basically a geriatric. To much BS.
But then youre disagreeing with the judges who you always back and agree with. The truth is Wahid does not always win, you told a lie when you said that. He changed his name, I'm respecting his wishes.
Floyd's resume is far superior to that of Wahid. Please do not insult Floyd like that. Floyd fought fighters regarded as the best in the world, Wahid has never once done that. We dont take kindly to insults.
I call it like I see. When I agree with the judges I say so. If you saw my comments before the fight I said Roach was a well schooled boxer. He put up a very good fight as I expected but I gave it to Tank narrowly. If you want to call him by his Islamic name call it properly. It’s Abdul Wahid.
