Yes, I’ve read the stuff about his dad. I had a strict, very old school for my age dad, what the pussies, simps and feminists would call very toxically masculine now but his dad seems ultra extreme. Must be a thick cun.t as well if he can’t appreciate he’s ruining his kid’s one childhood that much. However, if his goal was to make him a success which in society is 99% money based, he’s succeeded and who are we to argue but his son is far from the full shilling is he. I’m sure that sort of dad doesn’t help you becoming a well rounded, intelligent individual.

 

Yes. I agree with that. The problem now is that his father might not be finding the right balancing act and may be more of a hinderance. It is hard to say since his input in the corner seemed to spur him on during this resurgence after the first Usyk match. Regardless, pushy parents in sport oftentimes seem to be very odd and cross lines that ultimately impact upon the parent-child relationship. He might be a superb father, I can't say one way or another, but the hours of push-ups stuff, his general disposition (not very concrete, admittedly), the way Daniel is, the way the daughter seems to have estranged herself from the father, all seem a bit odd and the father seems to be the common denominator. The daughter is a beautiful woman who is reasonably articulate, especially for a boxer!

 

Watched in a bar so can’t comment on the corner stuff. What you say reminds me of the Eubank stuff though. Remember him getting in the ring and just posing in front of him in the early days whilst saying nothing hahaha. Ronnie Davies completely undermined.

 

I actually went last night, call couple weeks ago from a mate, free club Wembley seat. I have posted previously I don't enjoy stadium fights.

Chance to see Usyk live took it. What a fighter, just his in ring adjustments, judging range etc, top class.

Down side just seeing drinking to excess and other substances, which happens most sporting events now.
Worse was even the main event on and the amount of people wandering around no interest in the fight, why not stay at home pay 25 quid and do the rest in peace.

Free ticket or not wouldn't go to Wembley Stadium again for boxing, it's hard enough to try to wait to get back into Wembley Park for an hour without seeing people pushing, shoving etc.

Just a post my perspective, heads up to others maybe tempted.

You probably know Stan (or Dave) was brought into the corner, I think by Warren, during the Miller bout. That seemed to work on Daniel. I am not sure if he remained during the Hrgovic bout, I think he did. He might have been around for the Joshua bout too. Certainly last night people were saying Stan (or Dave) wasn't in the corner but that Daniel was fixated on him. I am not sure what they mean by not in the corner. He might have been outside of the turnbuckle or somewhere just below. Whatever it was, he was fixated on his father. Eubank is a narcissist and I can't stand the bloke at all.

 

Sums today’s world up. People can’t enjoy themselves without getting smashed or off their nut. Either that or I’ve turned miserable since turning 30.

 

To be fair it was a bit farcical. Usyk called out Fury ( biggest cheer) Joshua and Chisora. Someone from his entourage said something to him then Usyk piped up with Parker.

As if Dubois' set up wasn't chaotic enough he's now going to be managed by that clueless idiot Sam Jones.

 

I'm so tired of Sam Jones' face popping up everywhere. He talks like he's a very influential person in the world of professional boxing.

In reality, he's nothing special.

 

He couldn’t match a pair of socks never mind match a prospect properly. He’d rather throw them in the deep end in order to get plaudits on twitter about how he’s not afraid to match his fighters tough etc.

Can remember when he first came on the scene and he thought Joshua had failed a drugs test after the first Ruiz fight because it said on BoxRec he was suspended by the New York state commission.
