Itauma is good, you don't obliterate Whyte in less than a full round like that unless you have such talent. But Mike Tyson at 20 was already a unified HW champion, and had beaten world champions then.
Itauma is a good prospect and coming along at a time when the heavyweight division is aging quickly. He may be able to clean out the usual suspects that have been hanging around the top 20 for the last ten years. However, beating the force of nature that was a young Mike Tyson is a whole other story. Tyson doesn't have much problem with Itauma who would have no idea how to deal with Iron Mike. Tyson by early knockout.
Mike Tyson pre-Don King was an unstoppable force. And he had 3X the number of rounds Itauma had by that same age. I'd give Moses at least another year and then put them together.... and then you'd have a helluva fight.... but I'd still give it to Iron Mike.
Yeah, that's another apparent difference between Mike and Moses. Moses doesn't seem to be waiting to snap and become a party animal (making up for lost time) under a new manager. He's seems nice and steady... in multiple senses of those words.
Tyson was a busy fighter pre-title (27 fights in 18 months) and fought 5 world titles fights inside 11 months when he stepped up to 'world title' level. He won 3 of those world title fights before he turned 21.
the thing is, it's still early days for him, but Ituama is looking like he MIGHT grow to be on the level of Tyson. i'm convinced his power and speed are both on Tyson's level.
What do you think was about to happen if the ref had let it go? Ituama was about to hammer him into the canvas like a nail into a piece of balsa wood.
I think with Mike's speed the ref wouldn't have even been able to save Whyte from hitting the canvas. Moses has fast hands no doubt but still not as fast peak Mike's.
it might appear that way because its contrasted with the speed of the guys in front of them. tyson was fast, against fast guys. i do think itauma gives himself more options with his leg work. he controls range better than tyson did, who had no reverse.
