Crawford is a lot bigger… if they’re the same size Starling, Starling was as good as Mayweather Jnr tier guys.

They were the same height and reach. Was Crawford really that big at Welterweight? He fit in the division just right. He's probably stronger than Starling.

Bud Crawford is fighting Canelo at 168lbs, Bud is most likely just under 168lbs on fight night at 147lbs… Ol Starling was probably within a couple pounds of 147lbs. Different sort of mentality behind making weight back then, different protocol, different way I believe same day weigh ins only recently got done away with at the time.

Youre overrating Marlon Starling.. by a lot. He was a very good fighter, but fell short of great.

I absolutely despise Floyd with everything I have, but Starling was not as his level.

Bud would beat Starling, simply because he has more dimensions to his game.

Just a aside......Starling's ' strength' is a curious thing. He manhandled the 6ft 2 powerpunching Breland...he couldn't be budged by the very strong Lloyd Honeyghan.....yet he was was brutally overpowered and thrown around like a rag doll by the gazelle/ deer like Donald Curry in their rematch.

I think that it would probably be similar to the 2 Curry v Starling fights. Starling would be the best fighter that Crawford faced at 47- off the top of my head I think that is accurate and I'm not going to boxrec it. And Crawford would certainly be stronger at the weight; you would expect that, with him being substantially larger.
Crawford is known to walk around at 185-190 between fights. He weighs in at 147 and has probably 40 hours to rehydrate- A side guys get to weigh in at like 4am, not at the advertised weigh in time- and is almost certainly a super middle by fight time. That is how he moved up through all those weight classes without any effect at all. A guy like Crawford fighting in the 1930s or 40s would be a middle or lightheavy. How does he do fighting Archie Moore or Ezzard Charles?

That’s the difference between Marlon Starling and Winky Wright …Wright is a southpaw and much stronger

We'd be talking the lightweight version of Crawford, that'd match up good enough.

Starling by decision, at his best.

Haven’t seen enough of Crawford, only saw the Spence fight. I was very impressed. I think he can take Starling, who would cover up too much and have to counter as he could. Crawford by decision.
