I agree with that, I've been calling on them to position him into some top 20ish fights at the very least. I see Franklin (even though he isn't one yet) as one of those journeymen that you simply won't get rid of. And I think Moses desperately needs that under his belt.

    Maybe...

Agreed, it's good to have him in with someone durable.

I just think Franklin, durable though he is, just clearly isn't going anywhere - if he was, he wouldn't have been fed to Joshua and Whyte.

Plenty of Americans are desperate for decent boxers, to the extent that they fixate on prospects and get upset when they don't live up to the hype (Anderson) and will even buy into complete and utter hypejobs and refuse to accept reality even when exposed (Wilder)...

If Franklin was good enough to be manufactured, even, I think he would've been.

Oh, yeah Franklin definitely isn't gonna be a contender and Americans are looking for the next HW, it's gonna be an extremely long time before that happens. I had slight hopes about Joshua Edward, but his pro fights to date have been..................he's not looking like a future blue chip prospect.

Re: Anderson in particular I was very low and disappointed on him because he's not just American, he's from my state (only 3 hours away) and they never even attempted to develop him properly. And his interviews about only caring about money and not legacy................And now, we see what we got from him.

Hrgovic would’ve been perfect. Although I think Filip knocks him out getting past 8 rounds. I think he should wait 4-5 months for that eye to heal all the way and schedule it!

If Filip knocks him out at all, he's rocking a pretty iffy chin - not necessarily total glass, but a long way from iron.

If Hrgovic knocks him out later on, it probably means he has stamina AND chin issues that might limit him at the top levels.

Still, even if Itauma makes that fight and loses it, he'd still have loads of time to rebuild and have an entertaining career - it'd just mean the generational talent, unbeatable, etc narratives would be gone.

it’s a serious statement of my opinion rather that a fact, he hasn’t done enough for me to argue this a factual, I’m glad it made you laugh. If he doesn’t turn out to be the fighter I believe he will then you will be able to get another even bigger laugh out of it.
I’m wrong probably at least a couple of times a week, I’m comfortable with admitting it to, I don’t hold to high opinions of myself where I will defend a wrong opinion to the bitter end like a few heads on here.

***I still stand by it but my bad for forgetting about Parker. So it’s actually already pretty much wrong, Fuk sake

Hopefully the journey man can survive and give Moses some much needed rounds.

This doesn't surprise me at all. I was literally thinking the other night after the Whyte fight who Itauma could fight next... he needs someone who he's obviously going to beat but who is extremely durable, and Franklin was the first guy who popped into my head. I'm happy to hear this... ideal opponent right now. Gave Whyte a challenge, and Joshua, despite clearly winning, failed to really hurt him. I don't care about the current hype... it's getting a bit out of hand. There's no need to rush him so quickly. He's 20 with the world ahead of him. He still needs these opponents before stepping up to world level. Otherwise there's a risk it's gonna come crashing down, Jared Anderson style. All because he was rushed too quickly. I do think he has the talent to succeed at the highest level in future though, no doubt.

Seems like Franklin is fighting Dychko on the Canelo undercard.

Yeah, looks like Itauma vs Franklin won't be anytime soon. And Franklin has already turned it down before, but they might be putting up more money this time.

A couple potential good paydays for Franklin back to back there with the Saudi card and then Itauma.

But to secure the Itauma fight he'd have to look good without looking too dangerous in the Dychko fight, a fine line to walk.

I'll also add to what I said above... Itauma shouldn't be fighting anyone else with glass or suspect chins from now on, because it's obvious he will blast them all out of there probably in the first round. So if the Franklin fight doesn't come off, I'd be happy to see him take a step up against the likes of Joyce, Ruiz, Zhang, Hrgovic etc. I think he can beat all of them but they're definitely not gonna go easy.
