As I’ve said a lot now, I value who beats who at their prime more than number of title defences. Add in Foreman’s second career to his prime and to me, there is a top 5 heavy.

I heard those civilians referred to Sonny as godfather whilst being robbed, they knew there was only Ali could outbox him, and Foreman could outman him. So basically being the second best fighter of an era makes you top ten as long as you also lose to Ali. Good to know

The only guy he has fought at heavy that wasn't fat and in unacceptable shape was AJ, his heavy resume is repeat past it British fighters that were never close to the level of Lewis even in their prime, guys that Ali would toy with and Tyson would blast out in the first round

 

Being the second best in Ali’s era certainly helps. Especially if you can destroy the other prime fighters in that division easier than probably any other heavy that lived and come back and boss **** at 45 and win a proper title from an unbeaten champ.
