58-56 Jiménez is about right...certainly no worse than a draw for the local hero.

Again, no individual scorecards read out, but UD for Jiménez.

Triple R walked out to what I can only describe as some old Mexican guy trying really hard to sound like DMX. :sisi1

24 year old René "Zurdo" Palacios has just one blemish - a draw with Israel Gasparrillo, later avenged.

Triple R has lost seven of his last eight but is Palacios' highest class opponent yet and coming off a slump-snapping knockout of a prospect in March.

R1 - very sharp right jab put out repeatedly by Zurdo. RRR cagey, weaving side to side and feinting with a watch-the-birdie jab before slicing out with a wide looping right.

    10-9 Palacios

This is a nice mix of a jabbing duel on the outside and mutually ripping hooks on the body up close.

RRR has cuts all over his face - both near his eyes and chin, and one right on the bridge of his nose...wonder if there's a loose seam on Palacios' right glove or something?

Palcios has some swelling on his eyes too...RRR's left jab finding its home as well.

Whoa - kind of a quick stoppage there, but Palacios did have RRR stunned with a right hook and was unloading on him against the ropes, and RRR didn't complain when the ref stepped between them and took him in a shielding embrace.

    TKO3!

I was just thinking how interesting this would be to score were it to go the full 8.

    Zurdo improves to 18-0-1 (10).

He dons his pink baseball cap, takes some random championship belt that was handed to him, and quickly exits the ring and goes to sit for a chat at ringside with Camarena y Barrera.

I have no idea why this was made the headliner tbh. :nusenuse:

Palacios has a higher ceiling at featherweight than Galaviz does at lightweight...and faced a stiffer test in RRR than Galaviz has in losing-record Andrade.

From the booming cheers, though, it would appear Tony Galaviz is the most popular of "los tres guerreros".
