MAB resumes his commentary seat after being honored in the ring just before the fighter introductions.

He certainly deserves it as national legend, but...he doesn't have any especially close ties with Chihuahua, having never fought in the state.

10-9 Galaviz, finishing every exchange with a pair of hard hooks with either hand.

 

Close scrappy fight.

Galaviz just getting the best of it, especially when he gets Andrade leaning on the ropes.

 

Quite a bit sloppier and more full of clinches and wildly missed hooks than Palacios vs. Rosas, which ended far sooner than I wanted it to.

 

Galaviz wailing away like he wants to end it. Andrade has only been stopped thrice in 36 starts - by Rafael Espinoza, René Téllez Girón, and Miguel Barajas.

Espinoza is a huge puncher, the guy that beat Robeisy Ramírez twice and is currently 27-0 with 23 knockouts. René Téllez Girón is a deceptively heavy-handed journeyman (dropped Floyd Schofield).

...and Miguel Barajas is, uh...some guy. 3-4 record.

 

50-45 Tony G... hurt Andrade multiple times in the 4th & 5th but unable to find the light switch. Andrade playing macho, sticking his tongue out and goading him after the odd flurry - but doing a lot more clinching than fighting back.

 

Andrade getting outslugged and outlanded, and occasionally eating some bombs...but he has taken Galaviz's best stuff and laughed it off so far (from a fresher Galaviz in the first half). I think he's going to easily wrestle his way to a wide points loss here.

Galaviz wants to give his home fans that KO, but...tick-tock.

 

The good news for Tony G is that he can go nuts going after the KO without having to worry about whatever Andrade is throwing back at him... Andrade has only 2 career stoppages.

 

Andrade might have just about funked out Round 8, grabbing, releasing and flurrying. Galaviz is spent, missing badly.

MAB keeps giving the camera these pained Jim Halpert glances, like he wishes he wouldn't have taken a job calling low-level matches in a sweat lodge until well past midnight local time for presumably very low pay.

Tony G has the same LMXB championship belt that Palacios had.

"Liga Mx de Box", apparently. Some kind of domestic fight league where combatants rep each of Mexico's 32 states. I guess Palacios and Galaviz won in their respective divisions.
