Which division has more p4p depth? Is it more impressive to be a top 10 middleweight or a top 10 heavyweight.?

Middleweight for sure good mix of fighters with size and technical skill along with some of the most skilled fighters ever. Can't really say the same for HW.

I should've made the poll for it to allow how close you think it is. For example "Heavyweight and it's not close, Heavyweight but it's close, etc"

Oh well. Anyone who has voted please state how close you think it is or how hard it was to decide.

I think a big part of the love of 160lbs for me is it’s got the great 147lbers coming up to rumble and the 160lbers usually going for a 168-175lbs campaign… I don’t think it’s so much just the full time residents but all the potential.

EDIT: Also being roughly around the average size of most in-shape guys it has one of the highest populations of any weight class if I’m not mistaken? So it typically makes it a real meat grinder / blood bath division. (in the same day weigh in era)

I think even if you just limit the middleweights to middleweight I still think it's probably stronger. This might be a wild take but I feel like Robinson's middleweight career is better than Ali or Louis. This is a quick off the dome take I haven't thought much about it so I could be open to changing my mind.

I could definitely see that RGS, I’d stand on it.

Middle easily has more genuine greats, but there is something special about the heavies, whether the forum wants to admit it or not.

    Middleweight.

Of the original eight, Heavy actually has a good argument as the weakest overall. The absolutely stratospheric difference in talent between the few top active fighters compared to the rest of the division is something you don't see in any of the others.

Agreed RD - Louis and Tyson to me are the only two at the weight I could see having success lower down the totem pole with there style…

The list of HW champions going back to 686BC was never attempted at any other weight because there is nothing else that goes back beyond the 1880s.

The best and most I could do is tell you about the claims just before then and the small men who did well regardless just before that.

The MW division may have a greater number of more-skilled fighters, but they HW division is, was, and always will be, the marquee division.

The HW champion of the world holds a unique position in all of boxing.

Gotta be middleweight. You had a great mix of permanent and transient members of that class including:
    - Robinson
    - Monzon
    - Hagler
    - Jones
    - Hopkins
    - Toney
    And numerous others
