34 is already the age when speed decreases and I doubt he can fix it just like everything else...

His footwork is bad; that's why he can't get in position to punch properly. I'm sure he can punch hard. I witnessed it a lot of times here in Croatia while he was still amateur fighting in local tournaments, but the opposition was not at his level, and he could get away with it.

Hrgovic just isn't that good a fighter, with slow footwork, mediocre power, and zero defensive awareness. It's crazy how he was such a successful amateur. If it wasn't for his elite chin he would be outside the top 20, and the Adeleye fight showed that his chin might also be waning in light of so many brutal matchups. Itauma would go through him, and it'd be grim to watch.

34 isn't the 34 of 40 years ago. For whatever reason, fighters seem to be aging better now and through sports science and psychology, fighters appear to be peaking later. Imagine 50 years ago there being a 40 year old undisputed heavyweight champion who genuinley looks near unbeatable.

no idea. to me no one is fighting because the sport is dying. or maybe the sport is dying because no one is fighting? I know its almost impossible to see a fight where I live without buying a ppv or having a descrambler.

What is it with these weirdo giants that can't hurt anyone with their punches.
Get it together, Croatian, you're 34 and still can't punch properly.
Unfortunately I don't think it can really be taught, it's a bio-mechanics thing.
    Look at Lucas Browne.
Never really taught much, came in and obviously had good power and could KO HW's from the beginning.
Luckily Croatian has other traits that can help him win by Homer Simpson methods.

I appreciate your hope in Hrgovic. But he's nothing special.

I think its partly because boxers are better at training and sport science now. The old school boxing mentality is to train way too hard and spar way too often which breaks down fighters over the long term.

Plus I think people in general just do things like drink less these days and are a bit more aware of their long term health.

He has almost no power and he isnt that skilled to be great in spite of that

Maybe Abel Sanchez can make Hrgvoic sit down on his punches but I doubt it will matter
