Power punching slugger vs Power jabbing boxer-puncher. Does Cuevas have he power to hurt Quartey and stop him or does Quartey's great jab, better boxing skills, and toughness prevail over Pipino?

I'm about as big of an Ike Quartey fan that you will find. I also really like Pipino but I just see him getting over powered by the insanely strong Quartey. I think he dominants with that jab and his physical strength.

I don't think Pipino is getting past Bazooka's jab, and even if he does, powerful as he was, I don't think he's cracking that chin.

I was a really big Quartey fan. But, seeing all the problems Jose Luis Lopez gave a prime Ike (Even scoring a couple of knockdowns) I am not so sure Cuevas should be counted out of winning this.

    Bump.
Still on the fence with this one. It's a fight that can really go either way and perhaps ending by stoppage. Cuevas really did have the power to break chins and I think he'd be capable of stopping Quartey. But I also think Quartey would also be able to outmuscle and stop Cuevas in his tracks as well. A great slugfest either way.

Quartey didn’t move his head a lot, and wasn’t terribly elusive. If he could be dented by a DLH hook, I shudder to think what one coming from Cuevas would do. Cuevas by stoppage.

That Ike jab gives Pipino fits for six or seven rounds before Jose gets past it with a jawbreaker hook for a stoppage-from-behind win.

I think Pipino’s underrated body attack sets the stage for the big punch.

Cuevas should be favored here, but Quartey was rugged, persistent and not easy to shift. His left hand was also wicked.

Both men would be tested, but I would put my bet on Cuevas to beat Quartey into submission, somewhere around the latter third.

I'd take Cuevas by KO with a good deal of confidence. Cuevas is one of the more underrated HOFmers.

Agreed. I think he’s a handful for all but the elite.

Ike. I don’t see Cuevas doing anywhere near that well against a prime Oscar.

Prime Quartey would stop Cuevas in 7-9 rounds.

Two factors here. Ike could fade in fights and Pipino is a boxer that had ONE punch power which is very rare.
