He already looked slow and stiff af at 154. It's going to be even worse at 168. He's there for a check.

    Yes, it was Haymon

All the reigning champs Crawford fought sans Burns all had to bring their belts to him, including Horn who, as you say, shouldn't have even held a belt, to fight him on a deck stacked against them sans an even deck vs his countryman Spence.

And he has fought a lot of cripples and fighters who have suffered serious injuries or undergone major surgeries and were at the end of their careers. I still think he would've likely beaten them had they not but it is rather amusing how many cripples he has fought

Spence ducked Crawford for years. If that fight happened in 2019 Crawford would have already beaten Charlo by now

That fight wouldn't have happened when Haymon was calling the shots for Crawford and I don't know if a Charlo fight would have been made anyhow. But if he faced Spence in 2019 and then Charlo, he would probably have beaten both and had a better resume than he currently does. Stilla good resume, mind you, but I feel it doesn't fully do him justice.

This is a STUNNING admission. Maria LaGuerta was the REAL Bay Harbor Butcher all along. The case is now solved for good.

I don't think Crawford going up to 168 is the problem; it's the speed at which he's doing it. No warm-up fights at 160 or 168; he's going right in there with a guy who has knocked out world champions at 175. It's too steep a climb; he also couldn't hurt Madrimov, so there's zero chance he's going to put a dent in Canelo's chin. In fact, I think Canelo is going to walk through him because of the lack of power. It's wishful thinking to think Crawford, who couldn't hurt Madrimov, is going to hurt Canelo, 2 weight classes above him.

Did he really need to admit to this? Anyone with a functioning pair of eyeballs saw he was slower at 154 against Madrimov. So at 168, he's going to be practically wading through quicksand.

I think Bud actually said putting on more muscle does not mean you will be slower but you will hit harder!

Ummm. This is a bit of a stretch. Are we seriously acting like a fighter will get faster if he puts on 30lbs and 10 birthdays?

Crawford was 27 years old fighting at 135lbs vs Beltran. He's 37 years old today and currently weights even more than what he is to weigh in for this fight to be official (168lbs). Being "slower" than he was then means next to nothing unless you try to make it seem that way, because that's just what happens when you put on muscle.

You know who else is slower today than they were even just 5/6 years ago. Usyk.....who went from Cruiser to Heavy. Putting on muscle enhances your power but more importantly, it allows you to absorb punches better as well. Crawford is on record for REPEATEDLY saying he doesn't go into any fight "looking" for the knockout. He has never been one trying to KO his opponent with one punch. What he does is break his opponent down to the point they are in a hole they can't climb out of.

Crawford is in the position to be able to take a stronger puncher's attacks as well, because we've all seen that Crawford is the type to WANT to fight in the moment. He isn't a retreat, retreat, retreat.....guy so some ignorant fans attempt to claim he is. Canelo is a puncher like he's never seen so he would be silly not to prepare for what he expects from him..

And in the video posted of his recent workout, he's not drastically slower. He's still equipped to execute his plan based on his own ability. Crawford is 37 years old. About the same age Floyd was when he outclassed Canelo. And like Floyd, Crawford hasn't received a lot of punishment over his career. Unlike Floyd, he hasn't had multiple hand injuries to get over as well. Why are we trying to push this old nonsense. Neither fighter is being badly beat up by the competition. It's just weird that people are more willing to discredit this match up rather than appreciate the fighters participating in it and giving us such a unique bout.

Everyone already expected this for someone jumping up a few weight classes up. Timing will be the key to help him win and it helps with having a little extra power to make up for being slower. Whether that power is enough to hurt Canelo is another story. Not counting out Crawford's chances though. He's always had great timing and as long as he's razor sharp with his counters and combinations I think he'll have a good shot to win.

Its sounds to me like "don't mean you're going to get slower", which makes sense since he's also said in interviews that he's not going to build himself up, but just not cut muscle any more.

Oh it matters. There was a reason he wouldn't touch prime GGG with a 10 foot pole.

The problem here is the size. The bigger fighter usually wins and here this fighter is canelo.

There are many scenarios and most of them are bad for crawford, but there is one scenario that would be a total nightmare for crawford, this scenario is canelo being able to eat crawford's punches to connect his counters. If canelo sees that he can gladly eat crawford's leather to connect his own punches, then crawford will not finish the fight. And this scenario is quite plausible.

Imho crawford cannot win this fight, only canelo can lose it.
