Bro, you called it. I did think he was about 3 or 4 years older, close to 40. That's my bad.

50/50, I favor Park on skills, Wardley could get that KO ... well... TKO

As long as the fight goes over 6, this is kind of a win-win for Fabio. A win brings its obvious rewards, but a loss sees him sticking around and earning some good dough still. And possibly a title shot still when the belts fragment.. A loss for Parker sees a massive fall down the ladder however

Only guy to stop Parker was Joyce and that required 300+ punches in a relentless assault over 11 rounds. The man took Zhang shots, got knocked down, but didn't get put out. Wardley has no ability to get rid of Parker. Parker is multiple levels above anyone Wardley has been in the ring with.

This is a 90/10 or maybe 80/20 fight. Parker would have to catch the plague right before the fight or have the worst night of his career for Wardley to pull this off. It's a tune up fight to stay busy while Usyk takes a break.

Wardley has a little bit of Arturo Gatti going on, where his opponents find openings so often they try to exploit that and in turn end up opening up themselves more which leads to opportunities for Wardley to get his KO shot in.

I'm still picking Parker by late stoppage

Yes - there is some danger

But I see Parker being pretty aggressive here and really going for the KO

As the old fight-game adage goes—win tonight, look good tomorrow. In this business, you don’t get style points on the scorecards, you get your hand raised. Flash can wait for the morning headlines; fight night is about survival, grit, and a ‘W’ next to your name.

I think Gentleman Joe knows he needs an aggressive performance if he's to have any chance of enticing Turki, because it sure doesn't look like he'll get the Usyk fight without the Saudi money on the table does it

He knocked out Bakole in two rounds and it didn't do anything special for him

Parker could play this several ways, he could do his standard safety first approach and win a clear UD, or he could bring it like he did against Bakole.

He was getting tagged a little bit in that fight, something he would have avoided with his old eye of fighting.

Parker will have just been getting stronger in his time off, his S&C coach seems to stay with him most of the yesr these days. Anyone know what Parkers weight is looking like these days? He still pushing 270lbs?

Parker has to box to win, I think trying to outgun Wardley would be a huge mistake. If he gets careless for even a second it could be lights out.

Yeah good point, everyone seems to disregard that performance based on the late notice. Fair enough I suppose but every victory has an asterix if you look hard enough for one.

Tbh I think the whole thing is a farce.

Usyk doesn't want the fight by the looks of it, whatever his reasons may be, and bricktop is happy to throw another roadblock in front of Joe as a final-final-final-he'll-definitely-get-his-shot-if he-wins-this-one-trust-me-bruv.

The only guys that look good in this situation to me are Parker and Wardley.

Yes - the Bakole fight points to Parker's strategy in this one

    Intelligent but aggressive

I don’t see this fight being that difficult for Parker unless he goes to war as some one suggested, Wardley is pretty basic and has a poor boxing iq, he has a terrible guard and keeps his lead hand low, he over commits coming in and doesn’t get his hands up to cover, he also plants his feet tends turn away from shots rather than move out of range.
With all that said a disciplined performance from Parker working off the jab coming forward and limiting Wardleys range, he will get openings and he will hurt Wardley, Wardley definitely has power he doesn’t set up his power shot all his knockout punches were down to his opponents mistakes.
I think Parker on a bad day is levels above Wardley, I think Parker gets the knockout and I don’t mind that I normally route for my country man but here im almost neutral because I’m a Parker fan, not so much for his style but the way he carries himself in the sport.
I’m going with a Parker ko in round 8 but with both fighters touching the canvas in the earlier rounds.

I seem to remember a similar thread when Parker fought Joyce, also Fa

Parker doesn't really have many good fights so I'll be totally honest and say I want Wardley to win
The paint dry tag comes with valid credentials

Saying that, Parker really should be able to outpoint Wardley and that's where my money would go if pressed
