You are defending despicable behavior from a former champion, thinking this somehow makes me look bad. All of these comments and insults from you, but not once have you condemned what Wilder said.

Sad news, Wilder has been in a steep decline for some time and has taken some serious hits in his career. I hope he retires soon to avoid major health problems in the future.

 

Also, he would probably break his hand as soon as the punch landed. He had multiple surgeries because of that issue. He broke his hand in the third Fury fight because he chose horsehair gloves. Imagine if he uses his hands bare knuckle...

See, the fighter, has to defend themselves. After every single time Wilder spoke about a body on record he then got into the ring and defended himself against the man he just said he'll be looking to kill. That fool got his shot, Wilder got his shot, ain't no body got hurt feelings but some punk forum ******* who thinks he has the moral high ground by sitting on ass and seeing no one.

Your point is exactly........ In reference to our exchange...... I'm well aware of how the threads work. I can clearly see that this site, in general loves to hold conversations about heavyweights both past and current. I also know that Wilder at least to some American boxing fans, was marketed as a larger than life type athlete. But facing the reality of who he is today in the sport and what he can offer to the fans is exactly what I addressed. I'm not understanding what your angle is at the moment beyond claiming that I bumped a thread that was brand new when I stumbled upon it.

 

We are both in the same boat. I had a kid in my gym at the time who honestly was pretty good, but his work ethic was HORRENDOUS. We'd open the gym from 6pm-10pm, kid would show up at 8:45pm even though he stayed 3 blocks away. He was the first to tell me about some guy name Wilder who pretty much showed up out of nowhere and made the Olympic squad. I had heard references of him but didn't come across him at any point. As I started to hear about his personal life, like you I was rooting for him. I hated that when I was able to actually see him fight in person as a professional, his skill set was minimum. A wild right hand that he didn't know how to set up. It was early in his career. But then I saw him again in St. Louis, can't remember the name of his opponent, but the opponent was FAR from an elite boxer, but he touched Wilder way too much with zero adjustments made. I remember thinking, his corner is literally just cashing a check. With Wilder's length, and athleticism......give him something to mask his natural ability or tendancy to throw that right hand with zero caution.

Fast forward to the current state of his career and seeing how his character started to play into the laziness of his camp and success from that laziness, he's made it very hard for me to defend his character. Especially during the Fury exchanges.
