Why is Parker such a heavy favourite over Wardley?

Sure thing, buddy. Fight is a month and some change away, so you can say, "I told you so."

Your trust in Wardley will fail.

Wardley has 0 chance. He can’t box at a world level, Molina was up 4-0 vs him. Huni won every round too. His run ends here, but sadly not his hype

Parker is definitely the clear favourite, but Huni has good skills and fights a bit different to Parker.

Wardley getting schooled by Huni means Huni is far more skilled than him, but I'd put Huni as one of the most skilled in the division.

Parker's skills are not to be underrated either and he has more power than Huni and is vastly more experienced. Parker stylistically, is an even worse matchup for Wardley than Huni.

Parker has the defence and evasiveness to avoid Wardley and unlike Huni, the power to put him away, after he has softened him up sufficiently.

I suppose what I am trying to say is that if Huni had Parker's power and chin he would have put Wardley away pretty quickly.

Just as quickly, if not quicker than Parker would.

I sympathise very much with your main point (and in fact am one of the few picking Wardley for the upset in the poll here - I just can't shake the sense it turns into a war at some point, and youth and freshness wins out).

However in the interests of consistency, if you are counting Chisora 1 as a loss for Parker you also have to acknowledge that Parker should have got a draw or better vs Whyte if the ref haven't indisputably botched the headbutt knockdown call in round 2.

To Parkers credit he beat Chisora wide in the second fight

Why wouldn't he be such a big favourite given how poor Wardley looked in his last fight and Parker being a former world champion and having operated at world level for almost a decade with success and being in his prime right now.

Only a fool would have Wardley having anything other than a punchers chance based on what both have achieved. It should be an interesting fight because Wardley is dangerous but he has only an outside chance of upsetting the odds, hence why Parker is such a big favourite.

Have we consider the Ben Davison factor? The guy's philosophy is all about building towards the quicker KO for his guy.

Apparently the Huni KO was exactly what they had planned, it just took him 10 rounds to get there.
