I underrate his ability slightly it seems as many say he is actually a very good boxer but his chin is undoubtedly his best asset.
Chisora and Dave Allen seem more punch drunk than DeGale; DeGale seems like he's an actual drunk rather than punch drunk.
DeGale might be the only boxer in history to get reverse CTE - keep getting hit, keep getting smarter.
Yes — and you could always tell Khan never really wanted to make the fight or give Kell the payday (and the chance to beat him). I think it only happened in the end because he’d lost all those millions on that wedding venue project and wasn’t as liquid as he once was. For some reason Khan always reminded me of Froch — no surprise they never liked each other. Probably why Froch will keep talking up a comeback but will never actually do it… unless, like Khan, he’s no longer liquid, which is unlikely.
Froch will be doing fine from his YouTube channel plus he doesn’t come across as a huge spender. Khan lost a tonne building a wedding venue in what looks like the heart of Beirut but he will probably earn good passive income from it as it’s in a Muslim area and they always get married.
Yeah, as I said it’s unlikely. I remember speaking to his brother — the dickhead one — at York Hall back when Froch was British champ and Kellie was still called Frank. Even then Carl was already buying up properties to rent out. He’s probably the Robbie Fowler of Nottingham by now, especially after the Groves windfall. YouTube? That’s just Carl dodging his missus — or her handing him the phone to get him out of her hair. It feeds his ego, not his wallet. At this point he’s basically just a troll with a camera. Can’t see him ever coming back — the threat of losing and becoming a meme is too much for someone like the Cobra. Could be wrong, but I’m sure I read Amir’s wedding venue was up for sale last year — maybe just a sales gimmick dressed up as an ad to attract customers. Still, I don’t see him getting a return on investment in his lifetime… unless Putin bombs London, or the migrant boats keep landing and Khan flips it into a migrant hotel.
Is Robbie Fowler still doing property investing seminars What a bellend. Easy to invest in property on a high Premier League salary (relative to that time and property prices of course).
Which film was that, mate — the one with Shia? I remember McGuigan talking about working on The Boxer with Daniel Day-Lewis and saying he took it so seriously he could’ve actually gone pro. Shia’s cut from that same cloth, more so than Brad Pitt in Snatch, who was just playing it too script.
Yeah it's called Salvable, Shia doesn't box in it though. It's doesn't have alot of boxing in to be fair, Froch makes a bit of a cameo as a trainer too.
Yeah I remember Froch interviewing Shia — that was a good watch. ’ll give Salvable a look over the weekend between the big fights. Shia’s a phenomenal actor, but beyond that he really leans into that tortured artist persona. Can see why him and Froch clicked so well.
