Anyone else never watch any of this stuff anymore? except fight week or big announcement IFL TV - kugan cassius a total joke of a man pretends to be hard and can barely breathe or construct a coherent sentence without saying "kind of". Then got that Colm guy and his shite chat with Hearn and clothes all the time The Stomping Ground - same juvenile shite chat, never watch it Talksport - Simon Jordan talking the same old shite and if i ever hear "I have a great deal of respect for the Smith family" one more time. Adam Catterall thick as **** and the worst voice and accent ever. Spencer Oliver dumb as ****. Boxing King Media - how many of his 1m plus "subscribers" aren't bots? lol Dominic Ingle being a know it all chatting shite about everything Boxing Social - matt linehan interviewing himself and taking shite in every interview Sam Jones - boring as hell, why would anyone listen to this guy Boxnation - no comment, doesn't need one. Boxing News - load of shite Seconds Out - Eammon Khan and some teenager, no more Danny Flexen seemingly Porky's Corner - the most negative load of **** and hypocritical bollocks ever, still peddling that snakeoil "Human Nutrients" supplement Carl Froch - there's never been a bigger narcissist, makes me cringe George Groves - thick as ****
Agree Froch, disagree with Groves and Simon Jordan. Haven’t watched any of the other stuff for years but yes, Kugan has always been a top helmet, dad bod, soft as they come gimp who tries to make out he’s something. I’d put decent money on him never having a little hand bag tussle in his life, never mind a proper straightener.
You’ve pretty much nailed it. I agree with them all except the last 2. I like Froch and Groves. Sky Sports News get fighters in for interviews occasionally and put them on YouTube. About the only interviews worth listening to.
It's not just boxing it's pretty much all sports coverage. It's just all sensationalism and very very dull
Most sports and I watch a lot of football, decided couple of years ago to just watch the matches I want without build up. Enjoy the games better now. Certainly be it boxing and hats to a lot of posters here, you will get a lot of decent takes here a lot of TV platforms are hit and miss.
boxing must be the sport with the most imbalanced ratio between social media channels and actual events happening
Well, I guess it’s only going to get worse with the big fight coming up this weekend — brace yourself for mental overload. Might be time to build an ark, mate, because you’re about to get flooded with bull**** all week.
It's the same problem with the amount of podcasts that are on the go - once social media allowed people to get themselves out there be it to start a podcast / youtube channel / coaching business or whatever else, the floodgates were open to any old idiot and main character who think they've got something to offer.
Nailed it. I think COVID fast-forwarded social media by a decade in 18 months — great for the billionaire owners, not so much for the rest of us. Apart from a few exceptions, “content creation” is now mostly bored people chasing validation and calling it a side hustle, earning McDonald’s money while dressing it up with Canva posts. Once AI and Optimus hit scale, oversaturation of boxing content will be the least of anyone’s worries. If the tech moguls get their way, Generation Beta / Gamma will be waking up plugged straight in — Matrix style.
Don't forget... Jeff Powell's piece in the Daily Mail about Daniel Dubois, Joseph Parker boring him to death against AJ, insight because of having the 'pleasure of interviewing' someone, Frank challenging the cartels of Micky Duff & Terry Lawless, Andy Ruiz being the Pillsbury Doughboy, following Lennox around the US for his title fights, Eubank Jnr's mansion in Las Vegas, being 'right about' AJ having PTSD, 'Lloyd Honeyghan', the price of cheese, so-and-so's, quicker than quickland, tripe, "nonthenthe" (nonsense), and various Spencer Oliver put-downs... There are plenty more!!! Apart from that, quite enjoy Simon
I used to love it years ago and id watch hours of interviews, now I'll watch the odd Froch vid and listen to Macklins podcast while I'm work but as for IFL etc I wouldn't know if they are still going... I think this is probably how social media works, all of a sudden you are hot then all of a sudden you're not
Tris Dixon’s 2019 boxing podcast was a trailblazer. Now? Hundreds flood the ring. It’s not just oversaturation — it’s overstimulation. Sound familiar? Every industry follows this script: a spark of innovation, then a chaotic pile-on. Like the Gold Rush, most prospectors strike out. The real winners? The shovel sellers. Today, that’s Elon, Zuck, and Alphabet’s execs — cashing in on the platforms the digital prospectors scramble to use.
Online coaches are the biggest gimps going. Probably one of the reasons I deleted Instagram. Some roid head stood there like Mr Motivator telling people to ‘level up’.
Johnny your someone whose opinion I do enjoy so why don't you tell me what it is that you enjoy about Jordan and Groves. I enjoyed Jordan years ago, but now he's a broken record. Same old shite. Extremely boring. He panders to certain boxers because he seems to get on well with them or whatever. Groves, he's as boring as **** to me and ironically thought he was a decent talker in his career! He genuinely sounds stoned to me all the time. Froch is a narcissist and I think everyone knows that, and I don't like narcissists quite frankly. In fact I can't stick them. On top of that he was paying Porky from Porky's Corner to write his material for his youtube channel. It's all contrived shite. He's a total fake. He gets away with it because he was a hard ******* in the ring with a never-say-die attitude and that was also derived from his narcissism because he couldn't bear to lose so at least it did work for him in some respect but he's an absolute **** of a man. Enjoyed that. Thanks. The Lennox Lewis bit made me laugh. How many times can he say that. "I bow to your greater knowledge" "You can say he quit because you're a warrior who has boxed and I haven't" He doesn't cut through the nonthenth anymore in my opinion.
