Andrew Golota.....What was up with this guy?

    I didn't follow boxing closely during this era so i am ignorant of his situation but i did watch HBO's Tale of Golota/Bowe and Tyson/Golota and i'm shocked at this guy's mental weakness or unwillingness to fight.

    Can any give any more background information on this guy on why he was this way and did the things he did? I mean he was easily on his way to beating Bowe twice but CHOSE to throw low blows and got DQed. That's unheard of. You almost never see a guy WILLING to throw away a fight when it's in the bag for no reason but he did it twice.

    The guy is a HEAD CASE plain and simple, he quit against Tyson in 2000, and Michael Grant in 1999, he had talent but was Mentally Weak, had no ****ing ability to handle adversity..

    He's just crazy, can't understand why the HELL he would give up two major wins against Bowe like that, then quit vs Tyson and Grant the way he did. The man is just TOO weak mentally, don't think we will ever run into someone even close to that anytime soon.

    No one knows why he acted the way he did, he had some loose screws just like Tyson. And that's the best place to leave this discussion.

    He was a very talented fighter who was weak mentally. He fouled constantly against Bowe and when he quit against Tyson I was glad to see the back of him. He came back and performed very well against Byrd and managed to dump Ruiz on his ass, albeit it he never did enough to win a title.

    It's funny how he quit against Grant the way he did...but managed to fight Mike Mollo with one eye more or less closed.

    He's insane. That's the long and the short of it. The dude is stone cold **** nuts.

    He was an orphan in Poland with a bad stutter and got picked on for it...the main reason why he learned to fight.

    His childhood ****ed him up in the head for life.

    I believe he beat the **** out of someone and they had a warrant out for his arrest. Maybe it was murder? Probably not, when Golota went back and turned himself in, he didn't serve time.
