Yeah look I watch every fight even in Australia I pay to watch the NRL guys fight each other I even watch the Jake Paul fights but I don't fall for the BS hype. I ask the people giving Crawford a chance on here how many fights have we seen say in the last decade where a guy moved up multiple weight classes and actually won?

If Crawford beats him the first time then yes, otherwise he only gets partial credit.

Crawford is seen by the majority of the boxing community and hardcore Canelo fans as a fragile smaller 40 year old champion coming up from lightweight and welterweight weight bullying and feasting on nobodies with his best wins being damaged goods.

I will give Canelo the credit he deserves if he gets in with Beterbiev and last the 12 rounds win or lose.

Sure, I will give him credit for beating a 38 year old welterweight.

Prime Canelo would beat the crap out of the Mayweather he fought, and it would be bad.

    Refer to Mosley-Mayweather rd 1 and 2.

Circus fight is harsh, I think. Boxers have gone up two weight divisions and beaten fighters in the past. Monzon vs Napoles, Hagler vs Leonard and Duran vs Leonard 1 weren't circus fights, and they all bridged the same weight difference, some successfully and some not so successfully. I think the weight is too much, but how can you be a boxing fan and not be excited by this fight, even a little bit?

All the ones that worked out that you mentioned were a long time ago. The weigh ins have come a long way since then. I mentioned in another thread over the last decade I don't recall anyone having success in a big fight moving up 2 weight classes. The last one I can remember is Hopkins beating Tarver and that had to be close to 20 years ago by now?

Canelo always had slow feet and Mayweather would always figure him out. Plant won several rounds and that dude is mediocre. You think because Canelo was beating up bigger slower guys he must beat the smaller less powerful Mayweather but i don't see it. Skill pays the bills. Canelo did not become substantially better, he got bigger, gained some power and more defensive responsibility.

Canelo didn't even fight a prime welterweight Mayweather

Yeah, they are rarer now, that's true, but Crawford is a rare talent. Brook jumping two weights to fight Golovkin and Khan to do it against Canelo were death wishes. If I had to pick one fighter in the current P4P list with the ability to jump up two weight classes and get a shock win, it probably would be Crawford. I don't think he will do it, but I am looking forward to watching it.

Fair enough mate I do hope it is a good fight but I just don't think it will be. I will be watching for sure though.
Agree that Crawford is a rare talent and I would've given him a better chance at doing something like this a few years ago but at 38 I think he is past his best.

In these situations I always ask myself, 'How would fans react to Golovkin doing this?'
Golovkin v Bud megafight at 168lbs.
Just imagine the fallout from that.

Usyk fights people much mich heavier without having to put the weight on himself.

Inoue went from light fly to super fly.

Crawford went from light middle to super middle.
