    I think anyone paying attention at the time knew Thomas Hearns vs Pipino Cuevas wasn’t going to go the full 15 rounds.

    I remember after that fight Emmanuel Steward said he had a three-part game plan for Hearns: Rounds 1-3 try to take him out, rounds 4-6 box him, rounds 7-9 try to take him out.

    Someone asked Steward what the plan was for 10-15.

    He said something like: “There was no plan. No way that fight was going 10 rounds or more. Somebody was going to get KO’d.”
