Shakur Stevenson vs Teófimo López targeted for 2026

Teo wins controversial decision and sends a basket of bananas chicken and watermelon to Shakurs mailbox

 

About time these guys started fighting each other. I won't believe it until they are actually in the ring. Not sure why they can't get the fight in before the end of this year.
Anyway I reckon Lopez is going to be too strong for Shakur. Shakur has good skills but he is used to fighting much smaller guys. Teo won't let Shakur get into a rhythm. Lopez by late TKO or UD.

Hasn’t Teo been acting like a bellend lately? Assuming i am not misremembering, im hoping Shakur takes it.

Here’s hoping they actually reach an agreement soon and make it happen. This fight is too good for these two not to fight.

 

I'm not gonna believe this until they're both in the ring. I can see it being a non-starter of a fight, but my money is on Teo, bigger, much better wins, and a much higher calibre of opposition. Shakur's lack of power will not gain Teo's respect either, the buildup could be wild, though.

 

Shakur schools him silly. Teo can’t fight guys that move. Shakur is his stylistic poison, so the weight won’t even matter here imo.

 

Why do they have to wait until next year?

 

I'll be surprised if this fight actually happens. That said I have Shakur by clear decision with some shaky moments.

I keep telling everyone Shakur isn't going to lose to anyone until his hubris gasses him to think he can go in weight too high. I think 147 will be that weight, not 140 though.

 

They're both total divas that I have little interest in, but they have actually proved themselves to be good fighters, and they have actually beaten good fighters. Unlike the Charlo brothers who are hype jobs of the highest order.

I think Shakur's style is a pretty bad one for Teofimo's so I'd back a close Shakur points win.

Chicken and watermelon???? Sign me up. That stuff is delicious. Biting into a big juicy slice of cold watermelon, while chicken grease is glistening on your lips, is the closest thing to heaven you can find.
