Crawford will be the physically smaller, faster, better timing in a fight where he MUST earn Clenelo's respect FAST. Along comes Rigondeaux vs. master boxer-puncher Donaire and the impossible task to overcome someone as good but two divisions stronger and G found the EXACT window to establish his presence. Crawford only needs to watch the first 30 seconds and replicate.

Both come out fast and Donaire immediately tries to establish physical dominance, but even being cagey bringing smart aggression in, he's clipped by a VERY HARD left hand. He carries it as he has a great chin but that punch is burnt into his mind for the fight becoming weary.

There's no other way for Crawford to keep the stronger fighter off him that replicating early and could even go for the very southpaw left to announce his bad intentions. He could put as much hurt on Clen as Rigo did on Donaire, but is has to come in mere seconds.

This is a solid comparison, although I’d say Canelo has an even better chin than Donaire. 67 fights, wobbled (barely) exactly once. Going to take the best, hardest, most perfectly timed punch Crawford has ever thrown to do damage.

Crawford gone up in weight. Rigo went up in weight and quit against Loma…

    horrible example.

Alvarez is much more granite, and the weight disparity might be bigger.

Rigo is a good example, tbh. But donaire has nothing to do with this example. Rigo did the exact same thing as Crawford is doing right now, going two full weights up to fight a p4p talent being in his late thirties (almost 40). We all saw the result, he was a rag doll in Loma's hands.

    Weights exist for a reason.

Imho Crawford is doing what Rigo did too, calling it a day and cashing out. Selling their zero for the highest possible amount of money. It seems legit to me, no matter what they say, money is important, really important, way more than a zero.

Not much into nuance, are ya? Bet ur someone who knows how to plug it in but nothing about a gentle touch of the hair, a whisper in the ear and little kisses above pubic hair!

Rigo was a natural BW and Donaire was a natural FW no matter how low he could drain. Crawford is a natural WW, Canelo is a natural MW. Size discrepancy is comparable and the point too: Crawford needs to repeat.

Rigo met Loma at 130, that's several divisions above his natural weight but more than anything was absolutely content to just show up for the check and quit.

Crawford is taller and longer than Canelo, Rigo was shorter but longer than Donaire.

This. Donaire was undisciplined and unmotivated draining himself to make that weight. This isn’t like Rigo fighting a 126 Donaire.
