You can't have it both ways, If Crawford dominates then there is no way Canelo is going to look good. He is going to look inferior in that ring like he did against Bivol and Mayweather. Only a close fight would make both of them look good, and Canelo will get the decision in a close fight

It would prove that Crawford is better than Mayweather and that Floyd has to forfeit his watch collection

Yeah he'd jump to the top spot for me, if it's a decisive victory. For me the thing that has separated Usyk from the others like Crawford and Inoue at this point has been that he's beaten the best in a division against much bigger men and this jump up in weight against a faded but still a top fighter in Canelo would be enough for me to at least put him in contention with Uysk for the number 1 spot.

This, it depends on the manner of the victory and the fight itself

I’d pick Usyk but let’s wait and see. It’s be a toss up between two elites really.

If Crawford stepped up to HW and beat Usyk, then he’d overtake Usyk for sure

Ok, it would be impressive but let's be real. Canelo is jaded now, this is not prime Canelo. Bud is older yes, but when the level of both comes down, it compromises a win such as this.
As for the size issue, Canelo is not much bigger naturally, but yes had the PED hulking to get to 160+.
Even still the size difference is not the same as Usyk faced against AJx2, Dubiousx2, Furyx2.

Usyk getting through those fights without even hitting the deck is amazing. That's a more dangerous run than Bud will ever have.
Let's get it straight, the only reason AJ/Dubious/Fury are considered spent now is because Usyk beat them up. For everyone else they are still very dangerous opponents.

Eh. Canelo has dropped off significantly from 2021 which was his peak and has had a lot of wear and tear.

To me Usyk schooling a prime Joshua twice and not a prime Fury twice is more impressive than Canelo. The difference in size between Usyk vs Joshua and Fury is way bigger than Crawford/Canelo. Crawford is really a 154-60 pounder while Canelo is a true 60-68 pounder. Joshua was a bigger favorite against Usyk than Canelo is against Crawford.

Now if Crawford beat Terminator peak Canelo who broke Saunders eye socket I would agree that win trumps Joshua and Fury even with the massive size difference Usyk had to overcome.

Just absurd. If he beats Canelo he is in the conversation as the goat.

If he clearly beats Canelo then what does he do?

Rematch? Maybe the money is there but if Canelo loses his aura it's only a loss leader for any promoter

Face Bivol? If Bivol's injury is real then he isn't coming back any time soon and Crawford might lose motivation

Beterbiev? IMO Beterbiev sends Crawford to hospital

Benavidez? Perhaps but if DB loses its very hard to market DB from there onwards and Crawford will have one foot in the retirement door already.....

lol.. Beterbiev would break every bone in Crawfords body. Too big of a size diff. If they were the same size that would be a terrific fight.

what evidence is there that canelo is not fighting at elite level still, and is not the best smw in the world?
