Did Tyson quit against Holyfield?

He quit and he always quits.

 

Was getting beaten and found a way out. An epic quit job by a mental pygmy.

 

No, he didn't quit against Botha or Ruddock either. He fouled a lot when faced with adversity post Douglas.

 

He quit … like a dog.

Prototypical bully type: When things were going his way, all fine and dandy. When they weren’t, he found a way out rather than take his whupping like a man.

 

If you watch their 1st fight Tyson tries to quit during that bout. Mike intentionally and obviously comes in to Holyfield with his head. Then asks to see the doctor. It looked fake the way he did it.

 

Yes that's what I saw. It was pretty obvious.

 

I don’t think he quit, at least not consciously. He saw red and lost the plot. I doubt the warnings from Mills Lane really registered as he was probably aware that he was in for a long night and was not going to win. Plus the headbutts. I used to cut Evander more slack but he really was a bit of a dirty guy with that, and good at making it look sort of accidental. That fight sure pissed off everyone in the bar that night. Could have seen some biting and head butting there. What a disappointment.

I'll say it: This whole thing is just Holyfield's fault. To his credit and his blame.

 

Those guys were not threats to beat him. Holyfield had already knocked him out once and was on his way to doing it again.

That was a pretty low time in Mike's life. I don't think earlier in his career that he would react that way. Not in his prime.
