Even in the underhook clinches you could see Canelo was getting maneuvered.

reading so many funny posts from the usual suspects who hate when their fancied fighter deservedly loses!! Its embarrassing how many times over the years it happens.

    Boxed clinical. Fluidity, smoothness, accuracy.
Tired out Canelo with leg movement.
Wasn't so much as buzzed in 12 rounds.

It was a very assured performance. Crawford knew and understood early that cleanly deployed he would win this fight on points, it was pretty clear pretty early - Alvarez meanwhile just didn't have the second shot to get him in control of the fight. His career has been so interesting from that perspective, he lacked the third shot Mayweather and prior, he lacks the second shot now and in-between he had it going on form that perspective. Looked to me like he would never land as a combination puncher, did, then lost it in the twilight, natural enough but i just enjoy the symmetry.

I had it 116-112, I gave the two swing rounds (1 and 8) to Canelo so 117-111 and 118-110 are cards I could have handed in too.

    A few observations/reflections:

    - Wow. Just wow. Was definitely thinking Leonard-Hagler. Crawford actually looked like the younger man here.

    - It was truly a night for absolute corker fights at Super Middle

    - I wouldn't mind if Netflix carried a lot more fights. Let's just say I like the UX of their app a lot more than DAZN's ....

    - I used to watch his ESPN show regularly, and he's likeable enuff ... but listening to Max Kellerman tonite I was getting Larry Merchant flashbacks...

    So, thoughts on a rematch...?

I had it 7-5 Bud. Wasn’t forensically scoring but had Canelo clearly up at halfway and gave the rest to Crawford

Floyd Mayweather knew what was going to happen so placed a small bet on Bud:

Canelo cant pull the trigger anymore.. reminds me of ODH when he was ageing.. & SNAC fighters are on more gear than Ben Johnson

I thought Canelo won personally. He looked awful, but I thought he won.

Good post. There's so much emotion and bias in here. Canelo has been limiting his output for some time and been looking a bit mundane. He's not even looking overly powerful at this stage when, for a while, he looked like a big banger.

It was a good performance by Crawford, but Canelo looked half a step behind most of the night once the fight warmed up. He was downright lost at times late in the fight. He had no sharpness and didn't even look that dangerous.

I gave Canelo the first two rounds then stopped scoring and immersed myself in the fight. 116-112 would be indicative of what went on i reckon. 115-113 at outright best, and i was cheering for Canelo. It was a pretty ordinary fight. Usyk and Inoue are still the best P4P for me, Crawford a solid third. .

Im not quite where you were at, but I had him 5-0 up so can easily see how it could be scored for him.

Canelo looked solid and still lost. He couldn’t get off like normally because he was fighting Crawford. Crawford pfp 1 by a landslide.

This is due to Crawford’s physical strength. He wrestles guys weighing well over 200 pounds.
