Damn, what happened? I know he didnt have the healthiest lifestyle but to die at just 46 is crazy. RIP
Ah man that’s a hard one to take. I used to be a mod on his website forum back in the day, so spent some time around Team Hatton - got given tickets to his fights and afterparties, etc. They were great times - especially Tsyzu, Mayweather and Pacman fights. Also lesser fights like Collazo, Maussa, Urango with the forum crew. The forum was one of the biggest (if not the biggest) boxing fan forums and I remember well the banter with the Cotto and Tszyu fans particularly. RIP Hitman.
I watched a documentary on Hatton maybe a year ago and he was not dealing with life after boxing well. He was drinking too much and depressed over his final fights. Friends were having to intervene and carry him home periodically.
This is very sad. From the police statement released seems they don’t view this as being suspicious. I was ringside when he retired Kostya Tyzu.
Sadly, it is. https://www.rte.ie/sport/boxing/202...tton-found-dead-at-his-home-at-the-age-of-46/ RIP, Ricky
RIP. Ricky's a legend for the excitement he brought to the ring and legendary skills on the mic. He was winning that second round by a land mile.
Wow, this is truly very sad and shocking news. He was only 46 ffs. I knew he had, had some problems with mental health issues over the years along with alcohol and coke, but I thought he'd pretty much got on top of things. A very, very sad day for sure. RIP Mr Hatton.
