Would Ingo have been the hardest puncher Liston fought?

Why then there was rematch with Marshall twice, was he a champion?

I did, good for 3 rounds and nothing more than that, stronger and more durable won, it's easy, but when you meet a good boxer and you need to box for 12 or 15 rnds, that's when things become scary.

Would have to say the Big Cat Williams hit harder. Ingo shocked Machen and Floyd but seemed like he faded after those fights or once you knew about it the right wasn’t as effective. Not sure but think he became a playboy after he won the championship and wasn’t as dedicated as Floyd. I could be wrong but my theory. Early Ingo or not he was not beating Liston. Like a lot of fighters back then he didn’t want to try Sonny.

Against Sonny Ingo is probably hitting the floor and not much else.
However he clearly hit very hard. Not a great finisher. Williams also a big hitter. It’s subjective, to the point we find ourselves disagreeing with the fighters account of who hit them the hardest.

Agree, agree, agree. Ingemar would crap his drawers if he had to face Liston. His whole life would flash before his eyes and he'd be worried about all the pleasures he'd never enjoy again.

Still, if he got lucky and out of sheer fright and panic he landed that right hand solidly on Sonny's temple or chin, Liston would be on ***** street just like Patterson and Machen. That freakin' punch was heavy. Ingo himself was in awe of it.

But then I agree with Steve Fero. Once Patterson had been baptized by the Hammer of Thor, the next time wasn't as toonderous. In round 2 of their rematch at the Polo Grounds Floyd got hit with a thunderbolt, smack in the center of the forehead. But he was able to maneuver away from Ingo until his faculties returned.
