Why is Buds chin never considered to be amongst the best ?

    Only Gamboa hurt him truly. Gamboa could crack though and fast as hell.

    Because he hasn't been in a fight where his chin was really put to a hot iron and showed it's mettle. Clearly his chin is serviceable and above average (as most elite fighters' chins are), but again, if it hasn't been proven (by being under fire heavy artillery and walking thru it for ex), then no, no one is going to say his chin is "among the best".

    Canelo for instance: Canelo has taken some shots that absolutely melted other guys and shrugged it off.

    James Toney was a 5'10" natural MW gettin work from HW's that couldn't dent him.

    Hagler has taken enormous shots, took a flush shot from one of the hardest hitters ever and the hitter broke his hand. Took shots from a man with a 100% ko ratio and walked to him and stopped him.

    Even Floyd has taken some haymakers, even got a tooth knocked out, didn't go down and recovered quickly.

    There's many more guys that you could point at. Crawford hasn't proven he is anywhere near this pantheon. Big fan of Crawford but you can't proclaim something without proof.
