This content is protected I haven't watched any of the Eubank Benn stuff as I'm simply not interested but this is quite amusing how Hearn's cool guy act is unravelling, just like Simon Jordan unravelled in Hearn's presence.
Watching the presser highlights now against my better judgement but absolutely loving Eubank's continued rinsing of Benn, Hearn, and Matchroom so far.
“haven’t watched any of the eubank benn stuff” but makes a thread about it lmao no one believes you mate give it up.
Making friends, as usual, Phil. I haven't watched any of it, and came across this IFL clip as it had just been uploaded. My comment was meant to clarify that I wasn't aware of the context. Sorry if I have rubbed you up the wrong way with my comments about Joshua in the Bruno thread, petal. x
Not a big fan of Hearn, but I thought Eubank was a bit of a twat not allowing him to pay tribute to Ricky Hatton to be honest.
You mean virtue signalling. Hearn’s got a huge platform as CEO of Matchroom — plenty of time to pay respects in a dignified way before the press conference. Doing it there wasn’t about Hatton, it was about optics. He was losing the war of words, so he pulled the tribute card to steer attention back onto himself.
He's always a twat. He's somehow become a hero simply because people perceive Benn to be an even bigger twat.
There had already been a fitting tribute to Ricky Hatton at the beginning of the press conference. Hearn was right in the middle of being trashed talked into submission by Eubank and in desperation, dropped Ricky's name to try and get Eubank off his throat. It was pi55 poor form from Hearn.
In an ideal world, promoters would be in the background, making fights, and not trying to put themselves at the epicentre of it all. Al Haymon set the sport back years, especially in the US, but his discreet approach is light years ahead of Hearn, Shalom and De La Hoya, who all think they're the A-side regardless of the magnitude of the fight. Strange factions have appeared in the sport over the last few years, where the promoters feel the need to have WWE-style rivalries to promote a fight.
Eddie carrying on being a bully since his Jodie Marsh days. Scum. A shame that Ben didn't refer to Hearn as Uncle Knobhead.
