Any news about Martin Bakole? There was a lot of buzz about him after he toyed with that cocky American Jared Anderson who calls himself "big baby" (wtf). With Billy Nelson by his side, anything is possible. Billy Nelson has put a lot of time and energy into Martin Bakole for a number of years. I believe Martin Bakole was even staying in his family home and with Billy's wife cooking for him etc. This is from my memory of the Billy Nelson interviews online. Has he finally got into good physical condition?
Hopefully, Martin realises that he is entering the last chance saloon of his career and is starting to get into proper fighting shape. Bakole is talented, so it would be a shame if food was to get in the way of him reaching his potential.
Age is Martin's biggest enemy. Listed as 32 but I suspect he is more like 40 or 42 years old, he is way past his best. Once HW fighters go past aged 38 they tend to do very badly. Martin has been extremely poor in his last two fights, and its not just due to excess weight.
Bakole is doing a Ruiz and eating himself out of title contention. I can see him being served up to Itauma as one last potential payday at some point, and it turning into a potential upset if Bakole gets himself in good shape, but the chances of that are slim.
Bakole has now joined the older journeyman Brits Joyce, Whyte, Joshua, Fury and Chisora. The cannon fodder crew should stick to pastgen fights against each other as any genuine live heavyweight contenders will badly hurt them. Bakery Bakole is done.
Dont think bakole has the appetite for this (pun intended ) Think been plain to see weight will always be a issue even in his victories hes still been well over weight which suggest hes isn't disciplined enough and billy has suggested this in interviews before. Age factor also a issue , most likely the best opportunity he had he wasted by being unprofessional
If only his hunger in the ring matched his hunger out of the ring. One would think he would have 100% dedicated himself to give him the best chance possible of a World Title shot which was only 1-2 fights away. Viewing him in that shape for the Parker fight was the end for me. There are no excuses for a Professional Boxer being in that shape either in and out of camp or on holiday.
There's no excuse for anyone being in that kind of shape, let alone a professional boxer chasing million pound paydays, fattys do my head in.
I found this post thought provoking. I think what you say is true, so it's particularly alarming with how many heavyweights there are, some of whom could be middleweights, that are obese. The funny thing is that some people just put it down to genetics. Like every other man in just about every other weight division has visible abs, but the heavyweights, who are purported to be professional athletes, can't have visible abs because of genetics apparently. They are fat slobs.
