Geremy "Carotica" Vera (spelled Geremi on the WBA's onscreen graphic, but with a Y on BoxRec and every other place I can find) is another unbeaten 20 year old, 10-0.

Luis "La Mole" Golindano is eight years his senior, and brings a 22-17 record with most of his wins and most of his losses coming by way of knockout.

Golindano hit the back of his head on the bottom rope on the second knockdown; that seemed to be what really did him in.

 

Brian José Rodríguez Campas vs. Raúl Morillo, 10 rounds @ lightweight

 

Both come in with nine professional wins. Rodríguez has no losses and Morillo has two.

 

Both landing some head-snapping jabs, but Rodríguez is packing heat with that right cross. A partially blocked one sends Morillo reeling.

 

According to commentary and YouTube live chat, Rodríguez's nickname is "Crazy Horse".

 

Wow.

They had a prolonged BRUTAL exchange in the middle of round two, going toe-to-toe, until Morillo collapsed on the canvas writhing in agony. Not from a punch, though - it appears he tweaked his knee sliding his rear foot too far under the bottom rope and off the ring apron while pivoting away from Rodríguez.

This might be a No Contest.

 

What a hard cabrón ...Morillo shakes it off after less than a minute, and it's time in and bombs away, picking up where they left off!

 

Somebody's going to get KTFO...this can't last ten rounds.

(of course, I said the same about M'Billi vs. Martínez...)

 

This one and López vs. Bello have been unbelievable two-way slugfests. The rest have been mismatches.

 

Rodríguez starting to pound the body, might pay dividends soon... and yep, down goes Morillo to a knee. Wait, no, the ref had somebody wipe a damp spot in the corner, maybe it wasn't a knockdown?

Either way, Rodríguez is coming the **** on. Ref having a close look now. Morillo getting nailed on the ropes, but manages to spin out. Thudding hooks traded both ways. Goddamn what a grueling round.
