This is a tough one. Could see Hopkins making Crawford look bad. Crawford would have to produce a masterclass in terms of footwork to get the win here, as Hopkins was more dynamic and versatile and thus a tougher stylistic match up than Canelo.
If you equalize age, I think I would go with Bud because he is just such a freak athlete. Boxing IQ it is the sickest of chess matches but Bud is such a physical freak as well. It is the RJJ that Hopkins lost to that I think puts Bud in his place for weight classes but that is the most special fighter physically who has ever lived by a lot.
Hopkins makes it ugly, dictates, the pace, cheats here and there, and wins, possibly by stoppage. Hopkins had this magical ability to dictate the pace of fights.
Crawford isn't a 168. He's little dude with a slender frame that allows him to put on muscle and still look lean. These fantasy matchups are dumb. There's no way you watched that fight and thought he looks as good as he does at his optimal weight. He's just so much better than these guy's he can be handicapped and still win.
Too small and two vulnerable to the lead right hands. If you thought Madrimov was touching him up with those, Hopkins would be having a festival with them.
Understand, there is a point at which you must pack it up and then afterward, in the next step, you pack it in. Only then can you even dream of letting me begin.
Hopkins bullies him and neutralises Crawford’s skillset, maybe Crawford can land some uppercut’s as Hopkins rushes him, but I don’t think Hopkins would care and he’d rough him up, land lead right, which Crawford does get tagged by now and again, he’d bully him in the clinch and win decisively on points.
I think people are getting carried away now. Fair play to Crawford for his win against Canelo but prime Hopkins isn’t an old battleworn Canelo. Bud had too many problems dealing with Porter and Madrimov for anyone to say he beats Hopkins.
Crawford actually weighed more for his 154 debut, a very lean 169.8lbs,than B-Hop did for Taylor I at 160. 1.8lbs more And more than both B-Hop and Taylor weighed vs each other in the rematch, again at 160 obviously, albeit only 0.5lbs 3.8lbs more for his 154 debut than B-Hop did vs Echols at 160 Pavlik only weighed 174 vs B-Hop at LHW or to be more precise a catchweight of 170 Here's Crawford six years ago, three months after making his 147 debut vs Horn, weighing in the ''160s-170s.'' Look at how lean he is weighing that much. I've seen more fat on a needle This content is protected
He got both Porter and Madrimov to fight out of character, but he had too many problems?........ Whatever. And you say this as if Hopkins never faced adversity in the ring and shows zero flaws from round to round vs his opponents. Crawford's IQ gives him an edge in EVERY matchup. And 100% of the time he's shown himself to be able to figure out an opponent and control the action in the ring. Including vs Madrimov.....the only fighter ever who is getting more love for feints than a fight gets for landing combinations...... Dude through ZERO combinations in the first 6 rounds but y'all swear up and down that it was a close fight.....weird. Crawford beats Hopkins.... period.
