Was never really sold on Jermaine Taylor quite honestly. Crawford should win this convincingly, especially given Taylor's notoriously bad stamina.
Spinks almost took the decision off Taylor. Winky should have taken the decision off Taylor. Bud would take rhe decision off Taylor.
This would likely be a close fight for the first 4-6 rounds. But, Taylor had a terrible ring IQ. One of the worst I have seen for a (semi) elite fighter. Crawford eventually out-thibks Jermain for a UD.
I think Crawford would win but it could be a very good fights for 6-8 rounds before Taylor fades like he usually does Taylor is an odd fighter, beat Hopkins twice and had a draw with Wright before seeming to regress under Steward. He had a solid jab and decent power with his right hand. He had stamina issues, marked up and had I felt a shaky chin though he was knocked out by big punchers but he was very tough He was on the brink of stopping Pavlik in the first fight and damn close to taking Froch's title I think Crawford would win and might even stop Taylor but it would be interesting
This will be a great fight for the first 6 rounds before Bud eventually wears Taylor down for a 10th Round TKO
I liked Jermain Taylor. When you have a good jab everything is possible. I always recall a quote attributed to Vernon Forrest saying you beat speed with jab. And he defeated prime Shane Mosley twice. I don't see Crawford losing this though. UD.
Its funny how Crawford would bevthe underdog against Wright and Hopkins but the favorite over Taylor who beat both. Interesting....
Are you people serious, Bud is getting KO'd. Taylor was one of only two people to drop Froch. Bud would also get KO'd by Froch and Abraham who KO'd Taylor. Bud has never taken this kind of power at 160+. Here's the reality, if Bud thought he could compete at 160+ properly, he'd have done so in his prime. He could have taken on Golovkin for years since they are what, five years apart? Or even Saunders for that matter. Lemieux. He didn't want any part of 160+ until a huge money fight with a jaded Canelo came along.
I think people are starting to overrate Crawford on this forum Taylor is 6'1 with a 78 inch reach. Taylor is not a 5'7 70 inch reach flat footed Canelo who's past his best and only throws 1 punch at time. Taylor outpointed Hopkins twice who's one of the greatest Middleweights of all time. And had a FOTY candidate vs Wright who is one of the best defensive fighters of all time. Yes Taylor had his issues but in his prime he was legit. And has Crawford ever fought against a fighter much taller than him with a significantly longer reach ? I think not.
