honestly think Canelo is not at his best, even though he won, for me the fight was close, I know that many of you are from America and I understand that... I would like to see Terence with someone like Benavidez or with a real 168... I don't take away Terence's talent or merit, I think his resume has great names but Canelo's resume is better... but you know what... it would be great to see him with Mbili or Benavidez, especially with Benavidez who I consider should have beaten Canelo and by a lot... Canelo never wanted to have the fight
There’s no point. He’s beaten the best guy at the weight. I think he should retire but if he wanted to have a money fight that is easy on paper and which would get him more exposure to another casual fanbase (Britain), he should fight the winner of Eubank-Benn rematch in an English stadium.
Canelo hasn't fought Mbili... he got around Benavidez... he may have the titles, but he hasn't tested himself against Benavidez.
He should go to 175 or 160. 168 is a tweener division. He only went there because Canelo was using it as a duck shelter to avoid 175. I am really dismayed by his teams attitude towards the Bivol fight. I hope they are playing hard to get for the money and do the fight.
Canelo should've fight Lara. Both fighters are more stationary. Lara is owed a rematch after the first robbery.
Canelo is 5´8, he has no business fighting at 175. Canelo was enormous at 154, because he cut a lot of weight, but hes not cutting any real weight at 168. The fact that at 35 years of age he can still make 168 says that he belongs at 168. Heck, boxrec top 50 at 175 doesn´t list anyone below 5´10. Canelo should be at middleweight.
Benavidez ain't coming back to 168 now - he failed to make weight there b4 which is the main reason he never got his Canelo fight (Alvarez would never have even had the chance for undisputed if Benavidez had been more disciplined on the scales!)
No kid..... Canelo lost. Get over it. He actually should have 5 losses but that's a different discussion. And Canelo is at the best shape he could have possibly been in for the fight. Stop crying. Not one of you Canelo supporters looked at him at weigh ins and said Canelo was in trouble. You still chanted all kinds of things in support of what y'all thought he could/would do to Crawford. Not your feelings is hurt because Reality hits harder than Canelos leading hook. Benavidez is not competing at 168..... Why are you stuck on putting Crawford in the ring with him. Benavidez walks around north of 200lbs. He should be competing at cruiser. Which is one of the reasons why Canelo didn't get in the ring with him. Crawford is NOT a super middle weight. He came to the division to have a signature win vs an opponent that many of you Canelo supports stated he had no chance against. Now he's done what you say he couldn't and you want him to go fight an even bigger opponent? Mbilli just had a draw vs one of Crawford's sparring partners..... Why exactly should he get an opportunity to become undisputed vs a smaller opponent in Crawford when he needs to rematch against a fighter who isn't even ranked in the division but gave him a hell of a fight that easily could have been a loss had Lester used his distance more times than not to set up counters rather than fighting in the phone booth where Mbilli wanted. Crawford's resume has nothing to do with this discussion. Whether or not someone is from America doesn't either. Fact is, Crawford a former LW, SLW, WW, SWW, who just jumped up and beat the man at SMW, who is also labeled the face of boxing. Crawford's legacy is solidified. There isn't nothing to gain from trying to compete in a division that he has said multiple times that he is not campaigning in. He's actually stated that he's going down to middleweight. So those belts at SMW will be available if Mbilli can beat other super middle weights for them which includes getting passed the unranked super middle weight he just had a draw against 2 weeks ago.
