No.... you missed the point because you are focused on the made up scenario. I already said in my first response and the follow up...... CRAWFORD ISN'T FIGHTING IN THE UK. He's the A side. If for some weird reason either fight was made, they are coming to the states to make it happen. So saying.....IF he fights in the UK means nothing because that IF isn't realistic. IF either of them had a world title and a resume to make a negotiation worthy of Crawford's attention, then a fight in UK would make sense. Having a following in the UK is great but still means nothing. Ricky Burns had a massive following in Scotland.....Kell Brook and Amir Khan's following in England was massive as well. As a matter of fact, when Brooke and Khan finally got their bouts vs each other to settle the rivalry, Crawford was there in support of Amir Khan as Khan traveled to Omaha, NE to train under Crawford and his camp to prepare for the bout. When Crawford showed up in England, he got louder chants than Amir and Brook did upon their arrivals. The video is still up on YouTube for all to see. Getting ultimate love in a country you aren't going to compete in doesn't mean much as far as marketing Crawford doesn't need to see Canelo type money again. He was far from broke before the Canelo fight. Not sure if you read Forbes, but the man clearly has invested his $$ the right way since the moment he touched his first Ms.......But he also doesn't need to be fighting someone who's not going to help to generate a purse north of $7M-$10M...... You might want to do a quick search and you'll see that he and his camp have already said what their plans are multiple times through different interviews and conversations. I said Crawford isn't changing because he is who he is..... He's one of the most competitive people one can meet according to EVERYONE who's ever spent any amount of time with him. Why would someone so competitive all of a sudden decide he needs some easy fights to get paid, when he's never been that way ever in his life. And he's stated that his plan is to drop down to 160lbs. His trainers BoMac, Bernie the Boxer, & Red Spikes have all confirmed this. There's social media posts of him responding to Janibek (the unified champion at 160lbs) call out earlier this week. It's weird that some fans find it hard to believe that Crawford's priority is legacy over $$ when everything he's doing showcases that he wants the legacy fights. Yes, Canelo comes with a massive pay raise, but Canelo is also a huge win based on accomplishments and the fact that he was the UNDISPUTED CHAMPION. Crawford isn't carrying himself any different after the fight like what we saw of Edgar Berlanga. Crawford talked about what he accomplished in the ring. Only ones worried about his finances is the broke fans who try to discredit his competitive nature and suggest he only wanted the paycheck being the reason he fought Canelo. At the end of the day, Jaron Ennis will get Crawford more money than Conor Benn and though Ennis doesn't have anything to bring to the table like Conor, Ennis/Crawford is a match up that people have been asking to see for a couple years. Charlo will bring in more revenue than Eubanks and again, Charlo brings a match up that fans have been wanting since Crawford first hinted to moving up in weight just before the Spence fight.
Before the bivol fight people were saying he'd beat usyk. Canelo is literally the most overrated and overhyped fighter of my day easily.
why? Either would be easy work for him and would generate a big crowd (and big $$$) if he fought them in the UK.
If he wants to generate money he will just fight topuria. They already started promoting it. Benn vs shakur at 147 is a better fight. Canelo in my opinion should fight eubank or Lara. Bud gonna wait to see if anyone gathers the belts at 154 or 160. Fundora, Thurman, boots, and Ortiz shoulda been collecting belts if they wanted a bud fight.
IMO Crawford should get undisputed @ 160 and then retire, unless Mayweather wants to come out of retirement or a rematch with Canelo.
I don't see anyone at 168 that makes sense for Crawford to fight at his age and stage of his career. The guys like Mibilli are young and strong and don't carry the dollar value . And he sure ain't going anywhere near the 175 lb division.
