what are your favourite battle of the left hookers?

Canelo vs GGG 2 - lots of great left hooks by both dudes but since they both had iron jaws and excellent defensive skills, you didn't see any knockdowns.

Morrison vs Ruddock - self explanatory. Morrison got the final say with a peach of a left hook.

Frazier vs Bob Foster- a great battle in theory. Arguably the goat left hooker at hw vs the goat left hooker at light heavy. Unfortunately, Bob couldn't land a big left hook at all. Frazier did land some big ones though.

Liston vs Williams contained some fearsome left hooking.

    Tyson - Ruddock
    Louis - Galento
    Gomez - Pintor

I would love to see proper high definition video of Liston-Williams.

Not exactly all time greats but David Price vs Alexander Povetkin is good example of left hookers going at it.

Duran vs De Jesus II,Pipino Cuevas and Iran Barkley.

Roberto Duran always had some good..well rounded arsenal, but his left hook was nearly,if not superb to his left hooking opponents, that's why he's here.

@greynotsoold opened my eyes with that fight when he pointed out how well JCC stayed at a range where Rosario couldn’t use his power… those little adjustments after recognising a guys mechanical limitations carried the day.

    Hi JT.
Sueperb call on Gomez / Pintor, it is one of the greatest fights of all time, 2 fierce warriors, who fought their heart out for the entire fight, should be alongside, Arguello / Pryor , Holyfield / Qawi 1, I was rooting for Pintor at the time, his dark brooding looks and persona were not unlike the young Duran, thinking he would give any BW in history a torrid time, I miss him.
    stay safe buddy, chat soon.
    Mike.

Thanks Mike. It's one of the great fights for sure. This and Pryor - Arguello were just a month apart. One wonders when we had two fights of this quality so close together? I was rooting for Pintor as well. IMO this fight shows he would have given any BW in history a torrid time. Pintor's greatest fight IMO.

The hooks he landed on Davy Moore were vicious! Moore was lifting his leg after hooks to the liver landed.
