The British Boxing hall of fame have Joe Calzaghe as the greatest British Boxer ever.
I'm sure a few will disagree will that :)

    Hi Fergy.
As good as he was, and he was, It's hard not to see Wilde as No 1, for sure Joe is always underrated ( very ambiguous ) and he should get more recognition, his " slapping " style did turn off many fight fans, but his overall body of work was pretty incredible if we are unbiased, he could be a sound argument for second, alongside Fitz, Welsh, and Lewis, but the Mighty Atom is, and will probably remain the top fighter, from these Isles, well at least in my eyes.
Have met and spoke to him, and he really is a nice bloke, humble, polite, and very unassuming, in fact one of the nicest ex boxers I have spoke to, and I have spoke to hundreds.
    stay safe buddy, chat soon.
    Mike.

    LEN HARVEY,

    H2H - mw, L-HW, hw...

better than 'most' at 2 of those weights, best in one of them, an overall fight record few British Boxer's can match.

    Good post Mike,as usual.
That's the beauty of boxing, it's never really crystal clear in these polls who's the winner.
There's always someone that's going to argue you down that your wrong.
    That's why I love it.

Wilde ahead of Lynch at Fly for me, though I think Benny can get underrated.

I have Driscoll just ahead of Naz at FW, though it could be argued either way.

Do you have Turpin ahead Fitz at MW or just not consider Bob British?

I don't think the others could be argued with.

Jimmy Wilde, Freddie Welsh & Bob Fitzsimmons. Those are a lock for top 3 for me. Unless we class Mclarnin as British, seen as he was born in Belfast which is the United kingdom. Calzaghe i would put in my top 10 definitely but not top spot. I mean we have great fighters like Len Harvey that fought all the way from flyweight to heavyweight yet nobody even knows who he is these days. He had an exceptional career.
