And he DID put a lot of punishment on Ali. But Ali was HOF durable.. he could take the pressure of a young, supremely confident Foreman. Not many other fighters could take THAT.. like Frazier and Norton couldn't. So Ali stole some of the young heavyweights confidence in himself.. POOF gone

Funny Ali’s trainer seemed to think he was taking punishment he kept screaming get off the ropes. Ali’ fought his other defeaters 3 times. There was never a rematch with Foreman. Think he knew he caught lightning once he wasn’t going to risk tryin again.

Angelo Dundee was also not a boxing coach, glorified manager that probably knew less about fighting than some of the smart guys here, definitely the trainers here knew more then him some even have advocates of him not doing anything in the gym, sits around. A guy who was trained by him here said he was more of a “encourager” or leader he made you feel like you could walk on hot coals but again he didn’t teach anybody how to REALLY fight… Ali was built by a few but credit to Chuck Bodak for taking him for the last 3 years of his amateur career he himself said Angie didn’t teach him how to fight, Basilio was not trained by Angelo but by Johnny De John, Whitney Esneault who taught Pastrano and Dupas their craft, that man mentored Bill Miller…Leonard had his Olympic coaches, Luis was a product of Cuba in short Angie is full of it or very limited.

Liston has been underrated since the 2 dubious performances against Ali who had his number. Before that let’s remember he had established himself as GOAT champ up till then. Even Joe Louis said it. Now of course today’s top heavies would be too big for him to overpower which was his key ability. But up till the Ali fight he had been the best ever.
He demolished the division which was stronger then it had been for Marciano who struggled thru many of his fights yet many say he was one of greatest ever.
Dempsey and Tunney fought when there was a strict color line after Jack Johnson not to have a black fight for the title.
Your most overrated are Rocky Tunney Dempsey all good fighters for their days but not greats certainly not all-time greats.
