Yes i think it will be similar to the Joyce fight and a bit of brutal beatdown.

I just can't see Parker standing up to Wardley's power.

It took over 300 landed punches from heavy handed Joyce to put a sick Parker down.

Thats as many punches as Wardley threw total against Huni. Wardley will have to have the legit touch of death in his punches or land consecutive heavy shots against Parker, something only Joyce (who throws ~800 punches a fignt) has been able to do so far.

You’re right, Parker is overrated, but it doesn’t take much skill to outbox Wardley. The man relies way too much on his physical gifts. I also doubt counter punching will be a big factor in this fight for Parker. Wardley has defensive holes to the point where you don’t really have to counter him.

I'm expecting Parker to win pretty convincingly. Wardley will have the odd moment when he lands a good shot but it won't be enough, the gap in actual boxing skills is too vast. Parker wins behind the jab, makes Wardley miss, makes Wardley pay for his open and predictable defence. I think Parker might even stop him, Wardley isn't that hard to hit, it will depend on how good Wardley's chin is. It will have to be good for him to make it to the final bell because I expect Parker to find his chin quite regularly.

The light hitting Parker of his middle years is gone

The KO artist of his early years is back

So you think he was hitting harder in his prospect days and then his power just dropped off ? Are you sure that doesn't have anything to do with level of competition ?

Well Parker’s legendary comeback was against a 38 year old Wilder who barely threw punches, a 40 year old tortoise Zhang and a short-notice Bakole that was 315 lbs.

Wardley isn’t exactly Ali but he hits like a nuclear bomb and is an athletic, 30 year old guy who’s still fresh and motivated. Parker might struggle to clash heads with a young fast guy like that. What a pointless risk to take honestly, especially against a guy like Wardley who can fluke a KO at all times.

Yeah exactly, Parker knew that when fighting the top guys he couldn't rely on his speed and reflexes alone to carry fights as these guys have a lot of power, he obviously wasn't going to fight Joshua or Whyte the same as he would tax drivers.

So he adapted his style to be more a 12 round fighter, sacrificing his power for mobility and staying "safer" to win over 12 rounds.

Now that he is getting older, maturing and having more confidence in his game plan and is willing to stand and throw harder again like when he was coming up.

Wardley is a little too easy to hit. At least compared to Parker. That would normally mean Parker should land first, more often, and get a stoppage, probably early. But then again Joe Joyce was easy to hit too. I'm just not convinced Wardley has the same kind of chin Joe Joyce once had though.

Fighters can randomly lose their power but much more common is the puncher at the regional level whose a point fighter at the world level. Bakole was Parkers first stoppage in a title fight. Every time Parker fights opponents outside of the top 50 his power returns.

I think theres a big misconception about how this fight plays out. Parker has to box and move, Wardley only has a punchers chance.

I dont think thats the case at all, i dont think Joe is going to box as much as people think, i think hes gonna plant his own feet alot more and look to land heavy shots. Joseph Parker is not Justis Huni, i actually think Huni box and moves better than Parker and is alot harder to catch clean than Parker hence why he had Fabio looking so one dimensional in there. This version of Joe i think is hitting a lot of harder and hes got alot more confidence in his own power and is very happy to trade, i dont think Fabio is going to have to go looking for Parker. I see it being fought alot at close distance with Joe allowing Fabio plenty of chances to land some heavy shots.

I see the gameplan being, feel Fabios power early but not in a stupid way, then they will look to make Fabio punch himself out and look to force a stoppage late on.

Brain is telling me that a Parker victory is the more obvious prediction to take, but theres just something about a Fabio knockout and a golden ticket to Usyk, one of the greatest boxers of all time being dethroned by a white collar boxer with nothing but a big smack and a resilient mindset to win would make a incredible movie one day so im going to back that.

Parker will have to take some chances to go for the KO

And I see him doing exactly that

I favour Parker but boxing is a funny old game momentum is a big factor. I think it will be a good fight I do favour Parker I wouldn’t be surprised to see both lads hitting the canvas at some point. I am picking Parker by late stoppage but Wardley by KO would not shock me.
