Laughable mismatch, or could a peak roided Saunders have held his own? Jake did have some close encounters with Dauthille for example, and had concrete feet which works in Saunders’ advantage. However, LaMotta would probably be the highest calibre of a pressure fighter and high workrate that BJS ever encountered.

Hey there was a guy on here that said PED’s make you a mutant and that Tua is a different breed to Louis or whatever… he might pick BJS?

The best of Saunders schools him, terrible style matchup for Lamotta.

I don’t like comparing fighters from that long ago to today. Not just because tactics have evolved but also human beings are much stronger and healthier today. People like LaMotta lived off a diet of cigars and raw eggs.

Saunders almost always faded late though even against lesser opponents, and never fought someone with as high a workrate as Jake who can carry that workrate throughout, especially late. I see that catching up to Billy Joe eventually.

I know Jake Lamotta was a tough dude . But honestly I never thought much of him. He only stopped 30 people in like 80 wins. Lost 19 times which isn’t the end of the world but it’s not like he had an Ezzard Charles type schedule either . Only beat Ray Robinson when he outweighed him by 16 lbs then lost to him 4 times after. With all that said I’m not sure what would happen against Saunders ( who isn’t very good ) but I wouldn’t give Lamotta too many props in a lot of head to head fantasy fights.
