Jiri is mental honestly. No surprise he lost to Alex twice because he uses his head as his defence, but my god Khalil looked so good for the first two rounds. Don’t think anyone could take that kind of punishment in the UFC and keep on coming forward
I just know for a FACT that Jiri and Pereira’s ancestors were fighting side by side at some point in history.
Weird because there’s 2 potential trilogies on the cards for the light heavyweight division. Surely Ankalaev has to work his way back into the picture after such a resounding loss, but do we really want to see Jiri vs Alex 3? Miss me with it personally, I’d like to see Ulberg get it. I don’t think an unconvincing win over blachowichz and a KO over Reyes is the that deserving of a title shot, but we have nothing else at this point.
I think Pereira should move up and have a super-fight with the winner of Gane vs Aspinall. Prochazka vs Ankalaev for the belt and Rountree vs Ulberg for the No. 1 contender after that.
I bet the UFC does Jones v Pereira next. You just know Jones would love that easy fight and he has never wanted anything to do with Aspinal. The UFC will also create another fake belt (like boxing) and do an interim of Ulberg v Jiri at 205. You heard it here first folks.
Petrino is showing promise at heavyweight. Finally someone versatile who isn't a slob, or a blown up Light-Heavyweight. Edit: Just as I hit post, he runs out of steap in the second round. I think he might loose lol Edit 2: Nope, scored one of the best KO´s of this year. His gas tank is ****, but he belongs in the division.
Just caught up with the full card. Ramos vs Ofli was my favorite fight of the card. Best non-striking fight I have seen in a while. I simply enjoyed it for what it was. Pinto is another promising addition to the heavyweight division. A bit on the chunky side, but at least he is better than guys like Tafa. UFC needs more guys like Pinto and Petrino in their heavyweight roster. They are nothing special, but they make for good fights. Its much preferable than watching fat slobs gruel their way to a decision. Luque should retire. Oliveira still has it! Another fantastic performance from him.
