Realistically journeyman on journeyman action... But could be entertaining nonetheless - if nothing else, since credible arguments can be made both ways and both can be inconsistent, it's an unknown outcome and that makes it intriguing. Makh is far more hyped, but I'm not convinced he's realistically any better. Great bit of matchmaking, should be fun.
Mak has legit dumb-dumb power Allen is just starting to take his career seriously but has taken insane punishment though and has only looked good recently because he has been matched well and has a good personality which is marketable I see Mak catching him very early and then going up the rankings again
Slightly changing the topic, but has there ever been a boxer with such minimal talent coupled with not even trying, who has got so much money and so many opportunities in the sport?
Tough question, because not trying I immediately think of not trying to make weight,c which limits me to thinking of heavyweights. Curtis Harper kept getting shots on national television and just kept losing. And even he definitely didn't get as much money as Allen.
minus the not trying... Eric Molina, Otto Wallin, Avni Yildirim, Hamzah Sheeraz, Edgar Berlanga, Audley Harrison,
Bit harsh to call the match mediocre. Neither guy is a world beater but it's still two heavy hitters who'll go at it and potentially deliver fireworks. Could be a belter. That said, I do see Allen getting overwhelmed here. Love Allen but beating Fisher - who's no more than a local novelty club fighter - really doesn't mean much, while Makhmudov is the kind of B-level fighter who feasts on guys like Allen.
Allen has the style to do a Kabayel strategy. Problem is he is much, much slower and takes a bit to get going. For as massively overrated as Makhmudov still is (for some reason), his power is for real. Interesting bout imo.
Makh has the ability and attributes to be much better than he is. Allen doesn't. That's the difference.
